I did a quick search on twitter and the only complaints are coming from people with cartoon avatars and pronouns in their bios.

No, but he does have a account that was active in /r/guns and similar subs but i have not seen it in a while.

I think that Ian is well adjusted and normal enough that he understands old school things like how studying something can be done from a neutral position and how you can communicate with people even if you don't like or don't agree with them.

Unfortunately I think that he's so well adjusted and normal that he's forgotten which world we currently live in and how retarded the internet is.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that, especially since he's shown in the past that he doesn't really like the internet and so I doubt that a bunch of internet weirdos are going to have that kind of sway with him. I think the clarification video was something made purely in good faith and when people spit at him he probably shrugged his shoulders and said "okay" and went along with his day.

Considering his clarification video it looks like he's set on publishing the book. If the crowdfunding website doesn't cancel all the preorders, they'll have to go through with it anyway. The only way this book gets fully canceled is if the mob somehow gets them kicked out of every crowdfunding platform or payment provider out there.

I'll take your word for it. The only crowdfunding platforms I see being pitched around are Kickstarter and Gofundme, and it's not like either is known for being forthcoming either.
