General GunTuber thread

Never assume "shill" when "starry-eyed technophile nerd" will do.

Ian always does this kind of shit. Something novel pops up, he gets all enthusiastic and positive about it, then the novelty wears off (and the company producing the novel product goes bankrupt) and he never speaks of it again unless asked. Happened with the Hudson H9, probably gonna happen with those coilguns he was playing with, likely the same with the Alien pistol, too. And I'm probably also missing a few more. Do those STG 44 repros he was talking about damn near 10 years ago also count? I don't think most of them ever hit the market.
None of them hit the market, at all. PSA will apparently finally be bringing the HMG guns to market. On the one hand, nice to finally have them come. On the other hand...it's PSA.

I don't shoot SIG's or polymeme pistols in general so i cant confirm but if this is true OOF.

And then they'll plummet in price like the .22 versions ATI brought in and I'll be playing with one for a few hundred bucks
Playing the long game with funny guns is great. Let everybody else buy high, then buy low once public interest/hype goes down.

ETA: I've actually been eyeing this Hudson H9 one of the guys at the range has been thinking about getting rid of. Not because I want to shoot it (not without anyone producing spare parts for the damn things anymore), but I really like the look so it can be a mantelpiece... uh... piece.

They are also smart enough to avoid chasing military contracts, but they did end up with contracts with France, England, Rhodesia (in a roundabout way), and Iraq.
Ruger had a pretty good amount of LE and prison contracts back in the 80s and 90s for mini 14's and p-series pistols. They did a decently robust contract business on security sixes too. They even had a US mill contract for p series pistols for armored units in the late 80s or early 90s because baretta couldn't keep up.

Sharing this here too, but Ian shot the new Hi Point in 30 super carry, which can also take 7.65 French long. It's in mono audio, which Ian tried fixing, but youtube was being retarded. Good version on Utreon

ive probably put at least 2000-3000 rounds of mostly Tula and maybe 1000 rounds of this stinky corrosive remanufactured ammo i have
Keep an eye on your piston and bolt carrier group. Also I would avoid off the shelf remanufactured ammo like the fucking plague, that shit is made with unskilled labor and with precious little QC. Or at least inspect any of the ammo you have left, see if there's anything obviously wrong, or if any one cartridge weighs more or less than the other.

My old man has a Ruger P Series, it may be a brick but it eats everything. Ruger is solid
Ruger should bring those back. Enlarge the magazine release button, put a rail on the dust cover, and offer with tacticool paintjobs for those inclined, MecGar can do the mags. Maybe a variant with a threaded barrel and a slide cut for optics.

The world needs more steel autos which aren't just another 1911, lord knows CZ and Beretta could stand the competition.
Sig, as we're seeing, need not apply.

those were the pistols that ended up going to the Iragi army IIRC

yes they should I know they still have the moulds for the frames. they keep everything. MecGar still makes mags for them.

I have an H9, bought one almost immediately.
Very cool pistol.
I don't shoot it anymore for obvious reasons but when I did it was fun.
You can get some spare parts HERE , I ordered some extractors and a spare striker from them few years back and it went fine.

Wranglerstar ain't bad, and I don't recall him ever shilling. I also like how quickly he keeps losing fucks to give in his short videos.

Dear god that would be the northwoods dream right there, those old P series Rugers are beloved as truck/ATV guns since they're built like a brick and have the manual safety with decocker.

I just don't understand why anyone would do this, it doesn't make you look like a good person. Come into another man's home, take advantage of his hospitality, deceive him, and then proceed to shit all over not only who he is, bet everything that he loves. That kind of egregious behavior is worthy of an ass beating, not just in America, but in many other parts of the world.

What's baffling to me is that this is actually the second time that Brandon let himself get weaseled like this. The exact same shit happened last year with the robot dog video. Like, dude, learn your fucking lesson, these dudes are not engaging with you in good faith, there's no "constructive debate" going on here, you're being used for and actively participating in hit pieces against American gun owners. Just stop, you absolute fucking dipshit.

But considering the top reply to the video is Brandon thanking them for collaborating with him, even if he does 'disagree somewhat' with what their arguments, I think he might just be clinically retarded.

They were both filmed at the same time but Boy Boy waited for IDAT to take all the negative attention before releasing his own video.

New smart gun concept, which immediately made me think of the New Jersey law right before Ian opened the video talking about how it had been taken off the books in 2019.

Act No. P.L.2019, c.164, section C.2C:58-2.10

Act No. P.L.2002, c130

1-4 + 7 cover all the conditions surrounding "personalized handguns" and the legal authority to enforce this, so yeah, it's dead. I completely missed that.

Also, the Biofire looks like it might actually not be shit. 9mm means the electronics can handle the force of a reasonable cartridge, it uses fingerprint/face recognition instead of a big stupid watch, and it reliably unlocks fast enough to not get in your way. The company is also against smart gun mandates (they claim) and they're advertising it with a charging stand that looks like it should fit a cordless phone that's intended to just be left out in the open, so they're actually taking advantage of the smart functionality in terms of safe accessibility.

Looking at the comments of this video and I can't believe how uncritical most people are being when it comes to the idea of a gun with a smart lock that connects to the internet
The entire idea is one big red flag to me and it's weird to see such low levels of paranoia from gun nuts of all people
