His gimmick was anonymity, so they're putting out his name and location to intimidate him. Journalists are scum and this should not be a revelation.

Apparently he is a loicensed manufacturer so he is most likely following the laws. He's definitely on the radar of the Illinois State Police now and I'm sure he'll get a knock or two trying to intimidate him.
I expect reporters going to him and possibly his aunt. They're directly linking him to the FGC-9 and comparing him to the people using it, so they're likely going to follow through in dragging him through the mud.
So in other words, journalists are doxing this man who has by all accounts done nothing wrong in the eyes of the law, simply because he did something they don't like.

It's very likely that Matthew Larosiere, in his crusade to take Cody Wilson to court, has put John Elik on the map after all these years. That's some serious collateral damage, good job Matt!
They're friends, that's the terrible part. I suppose that John's involvement was just to add nails into Cody's coffin but this was an unintended side effect because Matt is spearheading the lawsuit.
