The algo currently loves this guy, he's getting recommended to... basically everybody I talk to, even non-gun people.

Which I'm fine with for once because as you said he's really entertaining. I have a feeling the whole Type 56 shtick is just a framing device for him to just... sperg his merry heart out about all the shit he knows about China. Seriously, I'm expecting him to one day do a fun and in-depth video somehow connecting the rise of the Ming Dynasty in the 14 th century to the adoption of the Chinese SKS. God bless him.

And the people at home watching who had all those morals that idiots keep whinging about didn’t froth and shit their pants when Andy Griffith “shilled” Sanka Coffee or Desi Arnaz & Lucille Ball “shilled” Phillip Morris cigarettes. Clower is probably a little more based than he lets on in the academic setting. He has positively referenced Darryl Cooper, and his old blog prominently features a link to Sargon of Applebee's YT channel.

I suggest looking at his blog if you want a clearer idea of his worldview and ideological perspective. Beyond Chinese gear, he has an extensive interest in French, SADF, and Soviet kit and webbing as well.

Regarding blackpowder youtubers, I always wondered how Balazs Nemeth (Cap and Ball) has amassed such an impressive collection of original, near-perfect condition American Civil War rifle muskets and revolvers in Europe. Even many of the pieces I have seen in American museum collections are not in such good condition as his.

That guy is cool. So few westerners have proficiency in Chinese that it's hard to get real information. It's the same reason I wish I would have went for Russian language proficiency, there is a lot of good/interesting info in the East that is essentially totally inaccessible due to language barrier.

@CyrusHowler that guy seems pretty a-political/centrist and definitely isn't a PRC shill. Some of his stuff is pretty anti PRC.

It rankles a lot of mainland chinese that all the best chinese histories are written in the west. Whatever the cultural revolution did to the science and engineering it completely castrated the humanities.

A few years ago BBC radio's flagship history program brought on on one of Chinas premier historians to talk about chinese history. Even though she spoke perfect English she cane across as literally retarded. Ignorant of basic facts, not able to interact with the other historians on the panel and just sounded completed flumoxed, at having to talk about something that was her supposed area of expertise.

If you want to study Chinese weapons, China isn't the place to go.

Someone is collecting dirt on him from women GT has hit up on dating sites or even local that did not go for him on the basis of him being a creep. The Chinese are a depraved and soulless people, and the history of the modern Chinese is only thirty to fifty years long. The Cultural Revolution destroyed everything prior to it and then after Mao died and a lot of his shit got walked back and then made verboten it basically reset them again.

I used to work for a company that would arrange shipping to retail customers in China. Only a few people in the company could deal with them, they were never straight with us, even though all we wanted was for them to get their fucking goods. We couldn't take card payments from them because they would innevitably charge back, which meant bank transfers and them whinging. They were constantly trying to fiddle import duties and would do it in the most retarded way possible, and would get offended when we wouldn't go along with their shit tier scheme (I say scheme because they all had the same fucking scheme lacking the ability to innovate)

Then we had the occassional Taiwanese customer. Polite, ethical, meticulous in their paperwork, eager to chat. One Taiwanese woman googled the small town we were based in and would ask questions about things she saw on google maps. Really just a pleasure to deal with. With one customer we fucked up on paperwork which meant we were going to get billed, they went out of their way to find a way for them to pay instead (weeks later we realised they were sending emails late into the night). It's left me with a great affection for Taiwan.

So it's not chinese people, it's the Chinese who've bent over for the CCP.

This person is only technically a guntuber (youtube link in the original post) but they are a gross tranny (we love compiling info on gross gun-trannies don't we folks?) that I wrote a post about in the Tranch (Never forget the Alpaca's) thread years ago. I found their reddit account and more photos of them
