It's nice that the NIJ finally updated the specification levels. The new RF2 level (what would have previously been called "level 3+" by armor companies) now includes M855 testing. Unfortunately it leaves off M855A1 testing, so now we're still going to see companies selling "RF2+" plates that provide protection against all RF2 threats, plus M855A1.

As far as the whole level 3+/RF2 vs level 4/RF3 debate goes, I think a 3+/RF2 plate that also covers A1 is the best choice for most people as a general use plate. Obviously people who live in places where threats not covered by RF2 are plentiful are going to want 4/RF3. The only reason I wouldn't say everyone should get 4/RF3 plates is that they tend to be significantly heavier than 3+/RF2 plates, especially on the "budget" end of things. 11 pounds worth of 3+/RF2 plates is going to be significantly better to wear than 17 pounds of 4/RF3 plates for anybody, but especially Joe Sixpack in his cul-de-sac neighborhood who never really trains wearing his carrier anyway.
 
We finally got Vintage Warfare acknowledging Kellet yet he doesn't either know he's a troon or he's pulling a Turkey Tom 'her prostate'. Thoughts?

I couldn't name any one thing in particular tbh, especially since I have a built in aversion to euros and anyone from UK/Ireland in particular to begin with. He mostly just rubs me the wrong way, something about the way he presents himself on top of the fact that I'm not a big fan of the "expert reacts" type videos to begin with. He tends to oversimplify things to the point of inaccuracy in some instances and he has a near pathological need to defend the SA80 despite the fact that it was demonstrably a pile of shit prior to the A1 rework.

I'm from the UK and I can't stand him. His videos always seem like they're pandering to gamers. I don't give a fuck what video game a gun was in. It's the least interesting thing about them, and yet he always seems to have it front and centre in every video he makes.

But yeah, some of it is also, 'Why does this museum cunt get to play with all these guns that nobody is ever going to even let me see or touch, let alone own.'

I don’t hate English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish people. I just hate their government and their royals immensely. I wasn’t happy when Elizabeth II died but I didn’t feel too bad.
Her Grandfather and his government dragged America into WW1 with their doctored Zimmerman telegram and by not saying munitions were on the Lusitania and purposely suppressing news that Imperial Germany was reopening Unrestricted Submarine Warfare.

The only monarchy I have a modicum of respect for is the Hohenzollern dynasty whose rule ended in 1918.

Elizabeth II is unironically the worst monarch in British history. When she was born, Britain was the most powerful empire in history, spanning the entire globe. When she died, the Empire had been reduced to a tiny island colonized by the savages it had once ruled over.

She wholeheartedly bought into Soviet subversive "colonialism is bad" shtick. Coupled with being kow-towed by the United States into giving up colonies, many of whom wanted to stay as part of the English Empire.

It started as a collaboration with GameSpot, and they hosted those videos. The collaboration I guess ended and now he's doing it without GameSpot. I kind of like the videos where he looks at a SF game and analyzes the fictional guns in it, but I don't care about the 'here's how accurately Modern/Historical Game depicts real firearms'. His videos talking about the history and mechanical aspects of various firearms are hit and miss - I'll only watch them if it's a gun I haven't seen before, because they're walking the same ground as Forgotten Weapons but much less concise and not as well shot when it comes to examining the mechanisms.

There’s also the point to be made that British Museums in general, and the Royal Armories specifically, can be horrible custodians of their artifacts and the information in their archives and collections.

Unless you personally know a curator it’s like pulling teeth trying to get information from official sources, whilst they also charge exorbitant fees for copying or looking up something in the archive. Wouldn’t be too much of a problem if it was all private institutions, but most of them were set up for the general public.

I haven’t physically visited the Royal Armories in a decade and a half. It used to be great but it sounds like it’s been falling apart recently. Worth visiting if you’re in the area though, the Hall of Steel is worth a look if nothing else.

Guy from GameSpot got dropped for whatever reason, which is a shame because that segment was probably their most popular series on YouTube.
I don't mind Johnathan too much since he's not so autistic as to look at a goofy customization and completely write it off, rather saying it's plausible but absurd or just acknowledging artistic liberty/rule of cool. Like you said though, he's an even more bite-sized version of Ian but it's probably better for educating the zoomers.

I do too, even though a lot of the stuff they cover isn't applicable to me. A lot of the guns they cover, I have no real interest in, but it's nice to learn about them. The long range stuff is sometimes more interesting to me. I have nowhere to shoot out to those kinds of distances, but I liked the videos they did about the Geissele 5.56 barrels and how accurate they were. Made me feel a smidge more justified in choosing a Super Duty as my primary rifle. They also seem pretty fair and balanced when they look at guns. The pros and cons, why you might choose one over another, etc.

I like their little videos but the videos of them running a gun through the speed way are my least favorites.

They've done great little mini documentaries like their one on the P90 and MP7 development. There's another good one of Henry talking about what a logistics nightmare the Army's new rifle is.
