He apparently had an existential crisis because he was diagnosed with autism as an adult. He either lied and got found with something worse or lied and didn't actually find the revelation that shocking but he is using to justify a mid life crisis.

He had a response to that - buckshot doesn't kill as good as slugs and slugs don't kill as good as rifles.

I’m not sure of his line of thinking and I say that as someone who says get a rifle instead of a shotgun. Hunting wise there’s a reason they use buck and slugs compared to rifle rounds. 9 pellets of buck on a human isn’t something to sneeze about and anyone who uses slugs in a shotgun for home defense probably isn’t thinking about their neighbors. If anything the switch to rifles over shotguns for home defense is more contemporary than buckshot but I think his point was the lack of cheap ARs in his later sentence? It’s just a poorly written disjointed argument.

That's retarded. modern fowling type guns didn't appear until pretty late in firearms development and wing shooting wasn't common until the 1700s. The premodern preference was to shoot large birds on the ground with small caliber rifles.
 
Why are we so invested in what other people who haven’t solicited advice are doing with their firearms? If this lady wants to shoot competitions with a gamer type set up then why do we give a shit?

For Ivan, it seems to be a combination of two things. He's part of the 3D2A sphere and the trannies within the 3D2A sphere are fucked up weirdos, which the true and honest woman is opposed to, so he typically joins the retaliatory pile-on when possible. Secondly, Othais sent him down the researching rabbit hole and may have unintentionally created a monster in the process with Ivan trying to carve out a niche in being the sporty shotgun guy promoting skeet/trap/bird shooting and reclaiming shotguns from 3gun and person-shooters.
 
I guess in some way I wish Ivan luck. Maybe then people will see that 12ga only became popular because people wanted a do it all gun and the 16 is the true upland king (I want to be able to find shells more places).

It seems like they just like arguing more than anything, whether or not it actually matters or accomplishes something. See: literally every time Ivan barges in and yells at some no-name boomer about the M16 being an AR-15 when they commit the cardinal sin of making some dumb point of the AR not being a military arm. (protip this doesn't change anyone's mind)
