*occasionally tries to cozy up with Eastern European Nazis and NAFO types while trying to sell you firearms

Ferguson is quite competent in his field. He's part of the problem (the problem being Britain at large) but I have mellowed on the guy, he lives under a soft dictactorship where people are utterly mindbroken in thinking that guns are alien things that should not be touched by human hands, working on low-tier youtube content is a way to worm its way in for people and an audience.. Or maybe I'm trying to read too much and he's simply a nerd and part of the problem.
In his early videos he acted like a stereotypical aristocratic Brit who thought that guns are only for serious researchers like himself, but he’s mellowed out over the years.

Jonathan has always been extremely helpful and kind to me. I like that I have never seen him let prideful about being shown new data etc. I like him a lot.

Someone is pissed that they still haven't been able to achieve their objectives in Ukraine while getting embarrassed at the world stage.

Ian also worked extensively with an antifa socialist literal cuck retard who has his own thread here.
Karl used to pose with nazis, and he was a hardcore wehraboo remember? His conversion to hardcore antifa started around COVID.

I know a couple of people who have met him/visited the NFC who had only good things to say. Maybe he'd be more popular if he took steroids, dressed up as a GWOT super-soldier and magdumped 5000 dollar ARs into trash at 50 yards.

Maybe the hohols and the ziggers should simply stay in their containment threads. Maybe.

Ian had some peculiar fellow travelers in the years, I've simply noticed the nature of his fellow travelers (particularly the European ones) has changed a bit and has become a bit.... charged. It's like noticing how he tried to sell you overpriced mugs and fell for the Estabilished Whatevers, and let's not talk about the Varusteleka shilling.

*unrelated helpful and wise comment*

Othais, the last couple of vids have been great, but from the depths of my heart: the new "classroom" setup is fairly inferior to the old one (it feels both cheap, boring and soulless) and the Ballistol ad in the 91/30 vid was one of the most cringe-worthy things I've ever seen, far surpassing the old "war were declared" cringe. I understand that shilling is boring and you do it only for proven products, but .... it's cringe. If I didn't know it was one of your videos and someone suggested it to me, I'd have stopped watching right there.

That said, excellent work in the last vids again.

I would love nothing more than to abandon all pretense and just cover the material but it was financially doomed. Yes it was a slow starvation but it was inevitable.

We absolutely have to take the risk of change. This plan is an attempt to negotiate expectations on two opposing sides. The other route is to "radicalize" towards drama and hope curiosity swells brand recognition before you flame out. That option, however, has poor view-to-support ratio and doesn't build trust.

So far we only have two broad types of dislike for the new format: Parasocials feel they lost a hangout buddy and antisocials don't want to play pretend with me. I am more of the latter mindset myself. But there is a silent majority and they work more strangely than we generally think. Even most patrons stay silent the whole time. I have been doing a LOT of work IRL sniffing out common viewer perceptions and they are formed on feelings and looks. I can't go vetbro or soyface, so I found a way to theme on what we already did.

Fun fact: I never wanted to do video at all. However, article writing wasn't ever going to support the work. Once we started video, our ad rate was never what the generation before us had. So we tried this new Patreon thing early. I hated ebegging but, again, no show without. It wasn't very popular at first and I remember we had some sort of explanatory announcement back when it was making $400 a month or so. Somewhere I have an email from Ian at the time, who had not signed up yet, saying something to the effect that the patron method was clearly a dead end. I try to think about that when I automatically reject change.

There sadly is a reason Primer is such a unique series. It's expensive, slow, and doesn't play well with the social media format. Because of that I have to constantly grab public attention and somehow shift it into our own expectations. It's a big job for us but no one who "gets it" realizes: you got filtered and never noticed. The majority that never get it just wander off. We have now effectively automated most of this shift and a higher % understand the product.

YT's algo shift and Utreon crashing have effectively distorted our metrics enough to hide any hard conclusions by the way. There is also going to be the usual period of people being curious pumping numbers. That means I can't say for sure if we won yet. We are still in the fog of war. I suspect I won't be sure of the effect until late winter.

There have been very noticeable changes, however, that are not necessarily public. What you might call our peer group suddenly expanded and we are getting much smoother transactions behind the scenes. A number of advertisers (other than the usual bot spam) reached out. Even just loan offers have jumped and a lot of people suddenly noticed we left WW1, though we had long ago. We are also slowly shifting our recommendation on YT, though I may still have to completely pop a new channel to escape whatever hex they put on us.

TLDR: "I rather not but I gotta," has been C&Rsenal's theme even before video.

Did Ben cuck this PSI retard? His petty and downright feminine attitude toward trying to "cancel" Ben makes it seem like a past girlfriend of PSI's cheated on him with Ben.
Benjamin is cool as fuck and he's amazingly good at making people butt blasted for years. For sure he has his issues like we all do but if you ever take a class from him you'll see what I mean.

PSI sounds as if he either had a gay crush on Ben that didn't go down the way he wanted it to, or Ben talked shit to him and the achy anus that caused is driving him to post all this shit now.

I thought the opening ad on the latest one was a bit much, but I have enjoyed the shift in format overall. It's still the same information. Really, most of the runtime of the older videos wasn't showing the studio, instead it was animations, closeups on the guns, and history blurbs, and those haven’t changed as much.
Maybe shorten the ballistol ads just a tad. Brevity is the soul of wit, and all.

Mae did that one all on her own. I was disturbed at first but realized the impact was strong.

On this point: advertisers have been convinced 90 seconds with XYZ statements is the way to go or no money for you. I have had to turn several away bc they were hard on "we want you to be creative but hit all these points." I keep explaining to them that people can hear this guided speech and it's losing effectiveness while burning up good will.

Tangentially I am paranoid about coupon code referrals. It feels weird to burn good will up front and hope for sales later. Also you have to trust that company bc they can see you did your job but you can't see if they are paying fully. The dynamic doesn't feel like you are buying ad space, just that you have hired a 100% commission paid salesman.

I totally get needing to change up your format, but I implore you, you must do something about the jacket. I don't know if it is a camera lighting issue, but your current jacket makes you look like the preacher of a congregation who meets at an old Pizza Hut.

I'd recommend a snazzy blazer with elbow pads, like a 1970s history professor. You might even get away with tweed, though some might say that is too tumblr-coded.

Tight patterns play hell with the camera so big risk to do something complex first.

I went with a solid English wool in a color that wouldn't fight the set "as planned" bc there was a three month lead on the custom jacket. Set wasn't even done so no way to test in same light. It was pricey so I played it safe. Once funds reappear I will order another solid for rotation. After that I can start experimenting further.

that was always a huge aggravation back when I used to help my grandparents at a station they on-and-off again hosted for since the late 80s. without fail, every week some guest would show up in a striped shirt or similar and it just looks so bad

seemed like it was always someone that has to wear a size that wardrobe never has. either huge shirt size or midget. definitely something to be avoided.

Day of the MOP is here, realistically this is the death of all "sales" related subreddits.

(rampant retarded speculation)

after the banning of /r/fosscad a few days ago, it makes me wonder if they got Subpoenaed or something from a case like the luigi mangioni shooting? I don't really get making the change now otherwise....

Interestingly reddit announces the rule change on the 9th but the ban will come the 16th. I'm sure there will be an offsite at some point.
