I've been waiting on that for 15, going on 16 years now. It doesn't feel like it's realistic at this point.
It will literally never happen. Video streaming sites are almost impossible to actually make a profit off, and everyone refuses to use any service that isn't on their TV or goyphone. You could literally make a perfect youtube clone, complete with goydevice app and people still wouldn't use it because that means swapping to a new app they aren't already using, and if the app ever has issues or goes down occasionally (like all new non megacorp funded software will) people will bitch so loudly that all the negative sloptuber vids will kill your SEO and then your app.

Many guntubers have brought cases to the courts that have preserved and expanded our rights
Maybe tangentially or they made some gay retarded clickbait video about it, but nah, not really. Just ignore all of the work by 2A organizations like the FPC and GOA and pass all the credit onto some punchable face parasocial e-celeb

If it takes YouTube grifters to move the needle on a political issue, our country is fucked.

Indians are one of the biggest ethnic groups in favor of gun control. You can remove the Indian from India, but you can't remove the caste system from them.
Raja Mohan is more likely just doing what his white (or (((white))) ) masters want him to do. Corporate America sees them as the perfect slave caste for a reason.

A Youtuber is literally about to be a politician.
>our country is fucked
Yea man, the country that had a dude with dementia as president and a tranny in the cabinet isn't fucked.
BUT people on the most WATCHED platform in the world, watched more than TV and radio combined having influence in the real world?
Naw thats it guys, were cooked, we used to be a real country up until then.

There are dozens, and dozens, and dozens of alternatives. People don't adopt them because it would be a slight minor interruption to their revenue or business model. Even fucking Rumble is signing HUGE checks to get creators to move to their platform.

This is a totally self-inflicted problem. If you can't be the least proactive to move to alternatives then that is your own problem. I am tired of giving any sympathy to these "people" atp.

He's a boomer, you can tell because he doesn't think YouTube is a real thing still.

I do agree, as much as I might disagree with other things you've said. I've made the effort to switch platforms before, but no large group of content creators did. I've used all these alternatives, but my point remains that NONE of them hold the power YouTube does.

YT really is leveraging their near-monopoly on video channels to act against their own content providers too much. One day a less restrictive and more generous alternative WILL rise, it's inevitable.
In 15 years this has not happened, usually due to a combination of factors

a: Not being run by a multi trillion dollar company willing to eat a loss just to keep competition from existing
b: Needing to be a premium service as a means of gaining revenue to maintain operations and that's before paying content creators
c: Running afoul of all sorts of retarded copyright/trademark/etc. bullshit in addition go various governments not liking platforms that allow freedom of speech
d: Getting targeted to be removed from the internet by companies, governments, and sometimes private individuals
e: Some faggot comes along and does something stupid on the platform that fucks it up for everyone else.

And that's all before SEO issues, people not wanting to use a different website/app, and so on.

Youtube just works. You can have shitty wifi, and it'll play on your phone. Every other site sucks data like no tomorrow just to play a short. There is very little friction. Rumble is junk. Even after over a decade.

I'm in my 20s and I've seen more terminally online boomers than I have younger people. Boomer hobbies are literally sitting at the puter or their phone watching bullshit on YouTube all day. Boomers are probably a bulk of the "guntuber" audience. Old fuckers are THE most terminally online demographic.

Goysludge award. Guns really are just Labubus for right wingers

What JimJams said. YouTube has never turned a profit for Google since they bought it. The ads they pushed on it just about broke even for a little while before adpocaplypse after adpocalypse pretty much destroyed it.

YouTube is kept around even at a loss because it offers a massive fucking advantage in terms of propaganda, marketing and control of the public sphere. Google doesn't make money from YouTube, they make money from stopping anyone from making another video sharing site and keeping control indirectly over internet discourse.

I was talking about why youtube has stayed on top for over 20 years. Cope.

I'm not certain they don't turn a profit. Recent actions indicate they are at least trying to. They changed the way they were counting views for a little bit to be more like TikTok due to how much they were getting raped.

People really forget just how much money is involved in the shit, and how much google(Alphabet) has.

Alphabet in the past decade has quadrupled their revenue, and multiplied their net income over 6x, all while not even tripling their total assets. And while it's public that youtube makes up something like 15% of Alphabet's ad revenue... they still don't admit what the operating cost of youtube is but can keep it buried and not have to discuss the margins at all.

Making money, and making profit aren't the same thing. Plus, their attempt at being a monopoly and stifling competitions means they maintain control over the space.

It's always going to be this way because you are competing for a shrinking talent pool against the literal irl cyberpunk megacorps. You will always be hiring second rate talent unless you luck your way into getting some super genius that runs entirely off political motivation, and that's not even getting into the lawfare alphabet could throw your way if your app works too similarly to youtube (including optimization). An alternative is never going to work because it requires a large group of humanity to have self discipline, and the obesity crisis tells you enough how that works.

In a more gun related topic, did we already laugh at tranch grenade for his 1.2 million rounds fired during his first 6 years in the army? It was the only clip of the focus stream I listened to.

I'm not forgetting, it's exactly why I said it doesn't feel realistic. It's too costly for not enough ROI to even keep itself running.

The perceived political neutrality of YouTube has also been a godsend for it. Sure you can technically post whatever on Rumble, but if the only people posting on it are of a certain political affiliation that's the reputation they're going to pick up and that's going to alienate viewers who don't like the politics and attract viewers who do. End result is that they become a de facto political entity. Hell, this very site is an example of such. Technically the farms is politically neutral and we have members from across the spectrum, hell even back in the early days of the site it was left leaning if anything. In practice, though? Quite a right wing website. Even ignoring Josh's personal political views, all the far right stuff that gets banned everywhere else isn't banned here so they take up refuge, meanwhile people of different persuasions elsewhere are not banned and not exactly fond of interacting with the far right anyways so you're not getting the same kind of growth. End result is that the far right gets a strong foothold in the site, this gives the website a reputation as being far right, and this reputation shapes itself into reality.

The only way that would be broken for YouTube is if they rolled out something so preposterously incompetent that it ruined the user experience for the silent majority who doesn't even watch youtube via an account.

Professional Paul McCartney impersonator known as NationSquid did a good job explaining why Youtube competitors never catch on. The TL;DW is that it all boils down to operating costs and how other people perceive it. Youtube (and to a greater extent Google) has been around for a long time, and is this considered reputable among sponsors and investors. If some random Joe Schmo off the street decided to launch a video hosting site from his basement, he obviously wouldn't have the adequate server capacity nor storage space to do so on a large scale, and no major corporation would risk investing in his startup.

Hell, even Google itself couldn't compete with Youtube. Google Video was launched in the 2000's as a direct competitor, and when they realized that even they couldn't do it, they just outright purchased Youtube. This was seen as a win-win situation for all parties because Youtube was unprofitable and couldn't afford snowballing server costs, so they needed backing by a major tech company [i.e. Google]. Meanwhile, Google Video was a flop, so their only solution was to buy up the competition.

3/5 units is pretty fucked
Imagine making such niggerlicious guns that they actually count as only 3/5ths of a gun. (I suspect Hi-Point doesn't have to imagine it.)

Hrm.....the only 'guntuber' I watch is Kentucky Ballistics, mostly because he owns crazy huge fuck-you guns and blows shit apart with them, I wonder if this will effect him?
The only three I watch are Desert Dog Outdoors, who doesn't accept free products for "review" since he doesn't want the strings that come attached, GunBlue490, who doesn't seem to take sponsorships and probably wouldn't be offered any since he's old and his upload schedule is pretty slow, and Forgotten Weapons, on the rare occasion that he gets access to an interesting historical design that he hasn't already covered. I don't think any of that will be particularly affected.
