I would say the same thing about /k/, kernels of good stuff inside piles of shit.

The difference for me at least is that /k/ doesn't take itself seriously (for the most part) and should not ever be expected to be a source of info. Arfcom is an actual forum full of people who are trying to give sincere advice but none of them know shit about shit, which is pretty on form for a forum but still.

The best thing about arfcom is its market.

As a member of a dozen gun forums through tapatalk I will say almost all are only worth it for their classifieds.

Also as an infantry line medic I'll say anyone who practices medicine based off youtube (ie tampons) deserves to bleed out.

To me shooting is something you can pay someone to help you with but ultimately you can improve on your own with range time, but TC3 or trauma medicine?

That you should pay someone to teach you sound doctrine (ie studies to back up the intervention) for bc this ain't the 1800s. You can't just play doctor to see what does/doesn't work. You can have multiple chances to improve your shooting but life saving is a binary scenario for the most part.

Bro actual door kickers are hard to get into CLS unless they fall into 1. They have prior first responder experience which is fairly common 2. They want to use their GI bill for medical stuff (warrior scholar) or 3. You hang out with them on the weekends and bro out with you so they are willing to learn as long as you pack some of their extra bang bang shit in your ruck to return the favor.

It always struck me that I'm almost always the only guy at a range or event with a trauma kit on hand. Guys will bring enormous duffels full of guns and ammo to the point they have a damned cart to move it all and not even a Band-Aid in sight.

Fortunately, I've only ever needed to pass out alcohol/BZK wipes and Band-Aids.
