Without telling us exactly where you are, how likely do you think you would survive? Is your home a potential target, and what kind of damage could you expect based on your distance from potential targets.

The range of the Tsar Bomba for reference. Any nuclear radiation will fall to safe levels after a month or two.

The Soviet Union built the largest thermonuclear bomb in human history. The name of the bomb was Tsar Bomba.
  • It had a yield of 50 megatons of TNT.
  • Fireball radius was 2.3 km or covering 16.61 square kilometers.
  • Radiation radius: 7.49 km or covering 176 Square km,
  • Airblast radius: 12.51 km or covering 491square km,
  • Thermal radiation radius: 77.06 km or covering 18626 square km. It was about 3,333 times more powerful than the Little Boy.
  • The intense heat from the detonation was capable of causing third-degree burns at a distance of 62 miles from ground zero.
  • The shock wave was felt by the people as far away as 692 km, and window glasses were shattered at a distance of 900 km from ground zero.
  • Though the bomb was exploded 13,000 feet above the ground, its Richter Magnitude was registered at 5–5.25. The seismic waves traveled three times around the world.
  • Tsar Bomba was ten times more powerful than the explosive power of all the conventional weapons used in the Second World War.

As for me, my home city is a minor finance and manufacturing hub for my country. It's not likely to be hit as higher value targets would be prioritized, but if it does it I'll either not survive or have severe lifelong complications.

Depends on where I am, 50/50 chance I'll be in an area which is likely to be targeted (near a major city + rail infrastructure) or in a more rural area. Either way, I'd much rather die in the blast than live in the aftermath.

This dohickie here tells me that I can uncomfortably survive a 5Mt if the city 20 miles to my north gets airbursted, same for the city 15 miles to my south, I'll just have to tarp up the windows afterward. I'm probably fucked if the payload is 9Mt, & I am definitely fucked if it's a surface detonation.

Not as high as the country where 90% of the kiwifarmers potentially live, but still a major hub of economy of the region.

living east of a major airbase makes me think I'm would be fucked by the fallout.

I live in the middle of nowhere in the ass end of the planet, not even one bomb will touch my country because its not worth it, everyone part of nato or five-eyes, or adjacent to them, its fucked

Citykiwis in the targeted countries will get vaporized while ruralkiwis will shit their entrails out after the fallout, and whoever survives that in a shelter will have to deal with raiders or our army going over there looking for GPUs or something
That was a one-off, the actual ICBMs are much smaller but they got like 6000 of those 8MT warheads and I remember some burger general saying the vatniggers cheaped out on the plutonium refining so the bombs are still powerful but super dirty, get ready for those birth defects!

And I saw the targets map, places like colorado have so many nukes pointed at it you cant count the dots because it overlaps

Choyna might survive if wwii is strictly russia-vs-west but they are gonna get all the radioactive ash from your burning cities and fields which will cover the northern hemisphere for a few years

You can check wind patterns and estimates of how fallout would spread to estimate how fucked you are. I live generously southwest of military installations and the airflow trend around my area is northeast, so I'm feeling pretty positive about my outcome.

Water source would be fucked so I have barrels of water stored in my basement.

LOL, montana its fucked

Fun fact Tsar bomb was originally planned to be bigger , but Soviets in the end decided to make it only half of its planned size.

I live pretty close to place that is getting nuked and I work in major city so I am pretty fucked in case of nuclear war.
