Science Global warming could be far worse than predicted, new study suggests

Green the Sahara? We could feed Africa and this is bad why?

Also, sure none of our data matches, so instead of compliling it and making a strong case , let's just yell WORSE! Because that's how science works now, you don't build a point with facts and research you just scream louder and louder.

Who is gonna tell all those volcanoes to stop polluting the air? They just can't stop being volcanoes. :(
In all seriousness, a volcano can actually do the opposite affect.

Edit: It was also partly responsible for the 1993 Storm of the Century.

This could mean the landmark Paris Climate Agreement – which seeks to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels – may not be enough to ward off catastrophe.
Anybody who thought this would do anything is retarded.

If China and India want to be superpowers, they must have a nice big war against each other, which will to trim a chunk of their populations and associated carbon footprints. That'll certainly help.

Anybody who thought this would do anything is exceptional.

The region as a whole is over due for that kind of dustup, and with two massive regional players both wanting to be world players in about the same time period it's going to happen one way or another but in this case we are not going to be able to predict the outcome with any certainty as both are fairly evenly matched and both are about as internationally well connected politically.

All governments are exceptional. Some are just more exceptional than others.

We can already feed Africa. We can already feed India and China and all other countries with a bunch of destitute people running around. The food crisis has been solved, it's just that the "organic" crowd doesn't like the solution. But they have the cash to go to the local farmer's market and buy non-GMO, no-pesticide, only pure fertilizer wheat to mill and make their own flour and crap.

Problem with Africa is that those in power skim off a ton from the aid those countries receive from governments and charities. As corrupt as you think your local government is, it can't hold a candle to the pure unadulterated corruption in Africa. It's really quite impressive.

Its certainly a grim situation, but good luck convincing the billions of third-worlders to limit their economic opportunities because westerners get sad when they see pictures of starving polar bears.

You need a lot more than an increase in rainfall for agriculture to be viable in an area that was once desert. It would probably be tens of thousands of years before certain plant species could gain a foothold, create a new layer of topsoil, and spur an ecological change of that scale. Of course it could get done much faster with human intervention, but such a project would be exponentially expensive and might not be enough to offset the decline of agriculture in already-established regions.

Oh man, that scientific consensus just looks stronger and stronger every time they say "No wait, actually the entire world will be underwater next year, we just misinterpreted the data again! Give us money!"

Global warming is real and measured and is less than 1 degree celcius over 50 years. Anthropomorphic Global Warming is an untestable theory, which makes constantly wrong predictions, and we're told we need to keep throwing money at it forever.

I don't know why we let this one doomsday cult keep moving the end of the world back over and over and we keep falling for it... I guess moving it up instead was a clever move, it's those assholes in the future's problem when those predictions also turn out false.

Especially when there are actual real problems with pollution that we can do something about. When a factory dumps toxins into a river, that doesn't increase CO2 levels. When fracking makes your tapwater flammable, that doesn't increase CO2 levels either. So the global warming people aren't worried about actual pollution like that.
