But I wonder I spotted something familiar in a recent episode of The Aquabats Super Show.

It bears a strong resemblance to another group we know.

What are the Aqua Bats? I never quite worked it out, they're some sort of band but they're also a cartoon/TV show?

They're a costumed ska band. The leader (Christian Jacobs) is the guy who created Yo Gabba Gabba!

This. Been around forever (aka since 1994). Think of it as a ska punk version of GWAR. They are a band with a silly backstory, a theatrical live show and don't take themselves too seriously.
