(I still hope it's announced randomly to btfo all "leakers")
unfortunately there is at least one person that has predicted hl3 for every date on the calendar, so first gaben has to invent a whole new day and then drop hl3 quick before some idiot thinks hl3 will totally be dropped that day

Valve already works with their own time. I'm sure they already invented a whole new Valve calendar.

I just got third source confirmation that the actual title being announced is Gunman Chronicles 2. Turns out redwolf studios reformed and is behind valve changing their logo red.

I'm still huffing that hopium that it comes out soon, but I don't know why people think Valve would make a big announcement at TGA or something. They don't need to. A random employee could post "yeah, HL3 is coming out next week" in the Steam Community forums and the entire planet would know about it within 30 minutes.

They still haven't released the updated version of Raising the Bar that they promised to release in 2025, so I have hopes that a Half-Life game WILL be announced this year, and when it does, so will the updated book.

I'm going to lock in my bet now.
Half Life 3 will be announced on the 26th of November, alongside the pricing for the Steam Machine and pre orders. The announcement will feature a short teaser trailer, and a longer trailer will be shown at the Game Awards. There will be a special Steam Machine bundle that comes with the game and a exclusive Half Life 3 face plate.

There is a 99% chance I will be wrong about all of this, but I don't want to bitch out and give non-committal predictions. I'm all in, Baby!

Not a bad prediction. Me thinks this could be the next copium date.

I have no predictions other than if it isn't announced/doesn't come out before 2027 I will consider it dead. 6 years was enough for HL1&2, so if it doesn't meet that date its over.

i was going to :optimistic: you but this bravery is commendable

of course tf2 was in development for 9 years and 9 minus 6 is 3, so obviously hl3 will come out 3 years after you think it will

Honestly if takes that long to make HL3 I'd be more worried about its quality. TF2 always felt like a bit of a fluke in that regard.

There's no way HL3 isn't real at this point given all the credible leaks so far, but even I had a feeling an announcement happening this week was a bit on the delusional side. My optimistic guess is that we'll hear something about it by the end of this year, probably alongside more Steam Machine info like a couple people here have said. Regardless I'm gonna put it out of my mind until Valve finally says something.

On his last stream, McVicker said that the week of Thanksgiving very likely won't have anything. His information is still that Valve is aiming for an announcement in the calendar year 2025 but there's zero concrete date, only potential timeframe.

watch the seethe when next half life is another vr game
The last update seen to VR functionality in a Source 2 datamine was several years ago. It's not VR.

Also Valve themselves said it last week.
