New weapon leaked, the big new gimmick of HL3 is going to be a 4K UHD turbo remaster of the Rape Swep; leaker says they did it to spite the bri*ish and to reignite interest in using Source 2 Filmmaker for making freaky porno for more grey market funding to prop up the two people assigned to convert TF2's duct tape to Source 2 via gorilla tape.
>no mention of FULLY MODELED
smh

Big if true. We need a proper use of transformer models in games that actually makes sense, to do what was otherwise either computationally expensive or outright impossible. Having pre-trained models for realistic physics simulation that give better and less computationally expensive results than something like Havok or PhysX would definitely be big and the type of tech advancement that Valve would want from a Half-Life game.

What are people gonna do when it's not at the game awards?
I'm actually betting on it being not there. Because Keighley had recently liked a comment on his TGA Instagram where someone was making a 'HL3 reveal at TGA' joke, and I assume that if it was actually there, he wouldn't be doing the eternal cockteasing game that is designed explicitly to sucker people into wasting their time and watching his show to the very end.

This post is basically a logical endpoint of the datamines that we've been seeing for months/years now. Miro Board --> click and drag to the "Engine Features", "Base AI/Base NPC", and "Gameplay Mechanics" tabs. Especially the things like extremely detailed fluid and gas simulation working in tandem, and all the work that we can see they've done on specific vehicle simulation.

My bet is that this post is bullshit, though. Literally anyone who's read the Miro and internalized it could come up with something vaguely sounding like that endpoint, and people love to fuck with eachother and make fake leaks. If this post specifically is real, though, I also wouldn't be surprised. Regardless, shit does seem cool.

If HL3 isn’t announced at the GOTY awards this year, fear not! It will be announced at *insert random game award where they sometimes announce games here* !
A Keighley event is almost certainly the only 'industry' event that Valve would ever consider a reveal at, due to their close relationship with him over the years with the Final Hours, and them reneging on showcasing HL:A at TGA on him last-minute back in 2019 (gameplay showcase IIRC, not announcement). If it's not at a Keighley event, it would instead almost certainly be randomly announced with a sudden social media post like HL:A was; which is what I'm expecting.

Nothing ever happens, I don't see the point of gassing up yourself like this every single time someone "leaks" something.
cope, just like they've done for nearly 20 years now
"Why are people happy about something? Why aren't you people jaded about everything like me?"

On the rare times you actually join this thread it is always never positive, it is always kvetching about whatever the current topic is, I have quite literally almost never seen you say anything positive, regardless of what thread your in. I don't know what caused you to be so angry about everything all the time but I sincerely hope you get over it at some point.

For the record, I don't care whether or not it gets announced today, or tomorrow, or whenever. I just find that you are almost antagonistic to an extreme degree in every single thread you are in and it reeks of a refugee from /v/ who cannot FATHOM that someone has a different opinion than him and you MUST make it everyone's problem.

Now go ahead and write a page long essay that no one will read about how I'm stupid tourist (you love that word) and how you were playing this series before I was born or whatever, oh and please don't forget to use the /v/-coded language that you do so love to use.

If true, I hope the models used supports the ROCm versions supported on my vega64. I'll probably need to OC my card.
Really huge news and I'm excited for the potential. I hope it's actually utilized unlike PhysX or the other destructive terrain and model ideas that were floating around the late 2000's. Like what was shown in star wars the force unleashed.
Here's to hoping the SDK is released alongside it. Lots of cool gamemodes could come out of a gmod clone using new physics.. Like an improved flood gamemode. Or spacebuild.
Edit: the leaker claims there's different sized models. With the largest being 8gb, used for tech demo's.

It's not going to be at the game awards. The Game Awards is beneath Valve.

Half-Life 3 will not be announced. It will appear on SteamDB one day. The only way you can buy it is with a direct link. If you search for Half-Life 3 on the steam store, it'll just redirect you to Ricochet. Valve will not even publicly acknowledge it's existence. That's how Half-Life 3 will be released.

Half-Life 3 will only be available on bootleg disks sold in post-soviet contries. The boxes will be covered in weird beta assets and have "Games for Windows Live" at the top.
