I always just assumed he was "conveniently" off base at the time. I also like the idea he's a passenger in the Apache you see taking off during the tram ride.
inb4 "Why would the CEO of Black Mesa be escorted out in a military helicopter?"
Heck if I know.
>It's another Tyler reads off the Miro board I've already 500 times already video. wake me up when he brings in something new.
That said, with all the AI stuff they've been working on for the NPCs and vehicle simulations, I really hope HLX makes good usage of them. I'm expecting like 2 vehicle sections at least, and if Barney isn't the primary companion for the game Im akill my elf.
Here? Probably. Outside of here I couldn't say, /v/ is /v/ and will just be contrarian, reddit is... and besides that you might see a couple say HL1 is better, some will say HL2.
Personally, yes HL1 is the better title, which is funny because I prefer quite literally every other aspect in HL2 besides the actual gameplay. Just goes to show you how you can do everything better but if your loop isn't up to snuff it can just end up tainting everything. I have about 400 hours in HL2, 300 in HL1, yet I've completed far more playthroughs of HL1 than I ever did HL2. I get more enjoyment thinking about HL2 than I do actually playing it. The gameplay and first half just doesn't carry the other aspects of the game well, it doesn't really follow up on HL1 in any meaningful way.
That's why I'd say Episode 2 is a better sequel to HL1 than HL2 or Episode 1 (to a lesser extent) ever was.
Nah, just adds a bunch of visual filters (like chromatic aberration) and flashy animations. I never found that it improved the gameplay in anyway. You're better off waiting for the author to MMOD v2 like he did with HL1.
I think they are about the same, each have their own merits. Personally, when it comes to 90s FPS, I prefer the purity of stuff like Doom or Quake, so if I want to play Half Life it's usually 2 or Black Mesa.
Extremely common these days pretty much everywhere.
I personally don’t like it that much though. It’s a very uneven experience of high peaks and low valleys while HL2 is more even. But alyx is the best in the series, that game is a masterpiece and the only reason why I’m excited for HLX.
I despise what black mesa did to the nihilanth's design, making him look more like something from Pixar instead of Geiger, it just kills the mood at the very end of the game. It's something that sours the whole experience.
