The number of white nationalist, hate and anti-government groups around the U.S. dropped slightly in 2024, not because of any shrinking influence but rather the opposite. Many feel their beliefs, which includes racist narratives and so-called Christian persecution, have become more normalized in government and mainstream discourse.

In its annual Year in Hate and Extremism report, released Thursday, the Southern Poverty Law Center said it counted 1,371 hate and extremist groups, a 5% decline. The nonprofit group attributes this to a lesser sense of urgency to organize because their beliefs have infiltrated politics, education and society in general. Some of the ways they have done this are through pushing for bans on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, book bans and protests of drag story hours, the report says.

Last year, there were 533 active hate groups. These include groups who express views that are anti-LBGTQ+, anti-immigrant, antisemitic and anti-Muslim. This number has been steadily declining since reaching a historic high of 1,021 in 2018.

“The trends have slightly sort of gone up and down but let’s just say generally, since our tracking, have increased. And that’s not just on a total numbers level but also on a per capita,” said Rachel Carroll Rivas, interim director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project.

The number of anti-government groups last year totaled 838, an increase from recent years, according to the law center based in Montgomery, Alabama, that tracks racism, xenophobia and far-right militias. These groups see the federal government as “tyrannical” and include militias and self-described sovereign citizens.

Male supremacy also continues to emerge as an influential hate group. The SPLC documented seven new male supremacist hate groups, making the total 16. Their rhetoric espouses misogyny and strict gender roles. Their rising influence came during an election year when the country saw a woman of color be the first presidential nominee for a major political party.

“I’m not sure it’s a direct result of the candidacy of Kamala Harris,” Rivas said. However, SPLC researchers went into chat rooms of white supremacist organizations during the election and found “intense vilification, the claiming of demonization of Harris as well as just the pushing of the idea falsely that women would not be qualified.”

Some people on the far right have also pushed a belief that white Christian culture is being threatened by a “demographic crisis” including fewer births.

“Politicians, pundits and provocateurs on the right have turned toward demonic language to tar those who disagree with them,” the report states.

Last year’s report found “record numbers” of white nationalist and anti-LGBTQ groups in 2023. The analysis highlighted how far-right groups tried to waylay democracy through disinformation, false conspiracy theories and threats to election workers. It also examined how supporters of Christian supremacy used similar topics to organize a movement toward authoritarianism.

The SPLC is a liberal advocacy organization that, besides monitoring hate groups, files lawsuits over justice issues and offers educational programs to counter prejudice. Frequently criticized by conservatives as biased, the nonprofit has faced lawsuits for its designation of some organizations as hate groups.

The report’s release comes as a Los Angeles college professor made an appearance in front of media and supporters a few weeks after he was severely injured in a hit and run that he reported as a hate crime. Aki Maehara, 71, arrived at the Chinese American Museum in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday morning in a wheelchair but was able to walk himself to a podium.

“All of your support, concern and care has helped to speed up my healing and has helped to raise my spirits,” Maehara told the crowd.

Photos of his injuries posted to a GoFundMe page have been shared multiple times on social media with users calling for hate crime charges. The crowdsourcing campaign has raised almost $80,000 for Maehara as of Thursday.

Maehara said he is considering directing some of the funds “to other victims of Asian hate violence and other victims of racist violence who are currently in need of support.”

“I am wanting to add my voice to efforts to address fascist, racist violence directed against Asian Pacific Islander Americans, immigrant communities, all targeted communities and individuals during our current crisis,” he said.
Maehara was riding his electric bicycle in Montebello, 10 miles (16 kilometers) east of downtown Los Angeles, on April 29 when he says heard a driver yell a racial slur. Maehara says a car then struck him and the driver fled. He was hospitalized with a concussion, neck injury, cheek bone fracture, bruises and swelling up and down his body among other injuries.

Maehara, who is Japanese American, teaches a course on the history of racism in the U.S. at East Los Angeles College. He returned to the classroom last week, according to multiple outlets.

The Montebello Police Department is investigating.

I may be a racist, but at least I can tell a chink and Jap apart better than they themselves can.
Attempts to cultivate "pan-Asianism" in Asia have never worked because all the different Asians rightly hate each other, but it's become a real thing in America where they're all taught to share an enemy, and when they hear "global majority" they think it means them, not niggers.

I'm 99% sure this guy just wrecked his electric bike and didn't want to pay to get it fixed, so he concocted this story.

A Japanese American professor and Vietnam veteran was struck by a vehicle and called a racial slur while riding his bike last month in Montebello in an incident that police are investigating as a possible hate crime.

Aki Maehara, a 71-year-old Asian American history professor, suffered serious injuries to his elbow, neck, cheekbones, jaw, hips and lower back, he told The Times in an interview on Monday.

Maehara was riding his electric bicycle on Merle Drive in Montebello, not far from his home, around 10 p.m. April 29 when headlights from a car approaching him from behind illuminated his path. He turned to check his surroundings and saw a sedan speeding toward him, he said.

“I tried to turn toward the curb to see if there was a driveway when I got hit,” he said.

Before he was struck, he heard someone yell an expletive followed by a racial slur targeting people of Chinese descent, he said. He skidded across a yard and was stopped by a brick wall. Maehara said he heard a man’s voice: “Go back to...” using an expletive and a racial slur, before the car drove off.

“It sounded suspicious to me because I wear a full-face helmet ... a helmet with a visor,” Maehara said. “No one can see my face. So how the hell did he know I’m Asian?”

Maehara said he couldn’t afford to incur the cost of an ambulance ride, so he called friends who took him to the VA hospital in Long Beach.

Montebello police said they have contacted residents in the neighborhood for security camera footage, but have been unable to find video that captured the incident.

Although no arrests have been made, Maehara said he has a suspect in mind and shared their name with police. He said he’s been targeted for harassment before because of his job at East Los Angeles Community College teaching the history of racism and racist beliefs in U.S. history.

“There’s a long history,” he said. “They’ve picketed my classroom at East L.A. College. Chicano Republicans came after me and picketed me at Cal State Long Beach. The KKK came to my classroom at Cal State Long Beach when I was teaching a course on the U.S. Vietnam War. This is not the first time I’ve been targeted.”

One of his friends, Glorya Cabrera, created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his recovery, writing that Maehara urgently needs in-home care for his injuries. The VA hospital has provided him with in-home care for a few hours two days a week, but Maehara is hoping the donations will help him get additional care as he heals.

“Hate crimes are on the rise due to the vile rhetoric being used by those in Washington and in the so-called MAGA Extreme Christian Right who feel justified in their violence directed towards non-white citizens,” Cabrera wrote.

Police are continuing to search for the driver.
Text of the GFM:
I am fundraising for my dear friend Professor Aki Maehara, who is a victim of a hate crime that happened on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was on his electric bicycle when a driver, screaming a racial slur, drove into him in an attempt to unalive 71 year old elder, Japanese American Professor Aki Maehara. The driver fled the scene of this horrific attack.

Prof. Aki Maehara is finally able to provide a description of this vicious hate crime: What Happened? On Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 - while biking back to my house, I saw headlights behind me. I turned to check and saw a car coming right at me. I turned toward the curb to find a drive way to avoid being hit. I heard someone yell, "F'g Chink! as I got hit, then I heard, "Go back to Chink-land." As I laid on the ground, he drove away. I sustained a concussion. Cheek bone fracture, neck injury. Swelling and bruising from my face to my upper chest. Bruised ribs, hips, thigh and ankle. Elbow was torn open. I was in the Veterans Hospital for one day. I had tensions from a former housemate who had ties to white supermacists groups & had received threats from an individual in these hate groups. The Montebello Police Department is currently investigating and seeking evidence as an, "attempted vehicular homocide."

The most pressing milestone is to get a professional home health aide into Aki's home. Aki was released from the V.A. Hospital 3 days after this vicious crime. He is unable to: prepare meals, bath himself, clean his blood stained bed sheets, or change his bandages.

Already the V.A. has failed to pick up Professor Maehara for bandage change appointments. Aki is rightfully concerned about the possibility of infection.

This fundraiser helps to ensure that we can hire a Home Health Aide, while waiting for help from Adult Protective Services/Hate Crime. The HHA will help with: his bandages, food preparation, monitor his medication, and wash laundry to ensure his injuries stay clean. More importantly, at this time of intense crisis and deliberate hate crime, Aki needs our emotional, spiritual, and financial support.

Hate crimes are on the rise due to the vile rhetoric being used by those in Washington and in the so-called MAGA Extreme Christian Right who feel justified in their violence directed towards non-white citizens. Aki teaches the History of Race Beliefs and Racisms in Colonial and U.S. History. He has also taught Asian American Studies, Chicano Studies, African American Studies and Native American Studies. He believes this attempt on his life could be pre-meditated given the subjects that he specializes in educating young minds.

At a time when self professed KKKer Shiloh Hendrix is raising millions off of her hateful toxic racist rant on a 5 year old autistic black child - it is a uphill challenge to raise needed funds for Aki Maehara who was targeted for a Hate Crime intended to unalive him.

It is horrific that a man behind a steering wheel felt justified in his attempt to unalive Aki. We are fortunate that his goal wasn't achieved. However, Aki is seriously injured and requires home health care now! This 71 year old Vietnam Vet/College Professor was left with a hairline fracture, a serious concussion, bruises to his face/head and a long strip of skin that was torn off his arm.

At this time, he does not have the resources to pay for a home health aide and was unable to take care of himself. We need to get help into this situation ASAP as he is unable to bath himself, prepare meals or change his bandages.

As a Vietnam vet, a college professor, and a revered, respected elder in the Los Angeles community, Prof. Aki needs our support right now. I am helping him submit an application to Crime Victims. However, we need to get Aki help with daily life activities, which requires raising funds in order to help him get through his difficult recovery.

Be generous and give what you can. Prof. Aki Maehara needs us to come through for him at this seriously critical period when he was almost murdered.

Aki Maehara's family were Japanese Americans who were rounded up and sent to live on concentration/relocation camps during WWII. He spoke to me about the deep shame experienced by his immediate and extended family that left deep intergenerational trauma. Despite this, he went on to serve in the U.S. Military and is a Vietnam Veteran.

I will be posting updates.

Blessings,

Glorya Ochun Cabrera, M.P.A.

Weird how Patriot Front just kind of disappeared, huh?
Shh, all the resident wignat untermensch clear political thinkers that have seen thru the lies will tell you that Patriot Front are a TRUE AND HONEST dissident group that will save White America (that strangely never gets targeted by the usual AntiFA black bloc members or harassed by the usual Glowie fuckers) and if you don't believe so you're a fucking race traitor.

In the interest of promoting hate against Asians, I would like to provide kiwifarms with a simple list on how to denigrate specific Asian subspecies the most effectively with minimal effort.
  • Koreans: Neonatal baby faced faggots that hack themselves apart with plastic surgery to avoid looking like eternal infants. Their inability to get along with the opposite sex is a thing of legend and they'll eventually get subsumed by North Korea.
  • Japanese: The most autistic race on earth that can't do something with driving it to an unhealthy extreme. They're actually spiritually white and nowhere near as racist as other yellows. Japanese women are less attractive than Chinese women but Japanese men are more attractive than Chinese men; use this one in particular to mock self-conscious NEET types who fret over their appeal to the opposite sex.
  • Chinese: Bugmen. If there were a race of intelligent insects without creativity or purpose beyond mindless work, it would be the Chinese. Their highest ambition in life is to make money and be famous. Remind them that a negro in the hood makes more on gibmedats than the average chink.
  • Taiwanese: See Chinese except with an unearned sense of superiority for being bugmen on an island instead of the continent. Remind them that China will eventual conquer them to trigger them.
  • Vietnamese: A race best defined by their inability to possess eyes level with each other. Hard working, loyal to their nation, and unlikely to encourage degeneracy. None of that matters. They're still butt ugly and the agent orange induced acne isn't helping.
  • Cambodians, Malaysians, Burmese, Laotians: Poor and pathetic. Just point and laugh. They already know God hates them. You can say and do nothing to them that life hasn't already.
  • Singaporeans: NYC kikes of Asia. Remind them that their country is inundated in pajeets and malaysians.
  • Indonesians: If the Chinese and Cambodians mixed with aborigines. The worst cultures in the entire world are found on the shittiest island in the world located in their island chain. Is homosexual pedophile cum drinking a rite of passage? The tribesmen of Papua New Guinea certainly think it is.
  • Thai: Royal cock-sucking faggots who can't even insult their own politicians without going to prison. At least their culinary tradition invented in the last 50 years to promote emigration from their craphole country is good.
  • HAPAS: Ugly lolcows. Just offer to help them perform suicide out of pity. They're the definition of failure in the Asian world and unwanted by any nation. Seriously, HAPAS, just kill yourselves.
Go forth and hate now!

I can think of one "per capita" statistic that's a danger, but that may count as a hate group.

I mean arabs, indians, niggers, hindus, muslims, and jews hate each other too, they just so happen to hate white people more than each other.

And yes I do mean within each racial/creed group, though they do also hate each other as groups as well. Jews racial and theological hate each other on and within both axes.
