Does anyone play the first Helldivers game?
I bought it at release, and have it in my Steam-library. I think it's pretty neat still, so maybe there's some nerd out there who likes twinstick-shooters as well? :-)

now these pussies dont even fight the automatons. 15k fighting bots, 170k against the bugs

For the first time, the concurrent playercount on steam dropped under 30k.

It also hasn't hit 100k since last Sunday. While it's not worth reading into this too much, I think it's safe to say that the fatigue is setting in. When Spitz tries to insert himself back into the discourse by claiming that every M.O. since his ousting has failed, he's correct but is too hopped up on troonshine to realize his outsize role in that. It's only going to get worse so long as the game remains on its current trajectory. Aside from the likelihood that major orders are fake and gay and intervened with, I doubt the current Arrowhead would bother to adjust them for plummeting playercounts.

edit: at some point there was a server outage but that doesn't count.

It was never going to keep hitting 100k concurrent, it's just not Skinnerbox Engagement Optimized™ enough, and you can actually get through all of the layers of progression without having to put in hours of your life every day. Especially now that it's been a couple months and it's not the FOTM game anymore. Yeah, the balance changes were ass and lost some players, but the bigger falloff is natural.

The people who are running the galactic war are retards who have no idea what theyre doing, Case in point how theyve stalled both fronts for months at this point, Id like to believe theyre going to go hands off once some major content is released and the game is more fleshed out. Had they not straight up disabled liberation progress both fronts would have been pushed to the galactic fringe. The two major orders before the one today were planned losses, based on the timeframe given there is no way they could have thought it was possible.

Hit the nail on the head there. About 50-60 hours in you've done everything. I hit 100 hours and it is starting to get dull. Nothing new being added to spice things up and the same old BS with new BS on top because they keep these dumbass balance choices. Also doesn't help they aren't letting anyone cap planets barring where the zerg goes.

I had my fun, but don't see is lasting much more than a 2~ more months in the public eye.

Honestly I don't think Helldivers 2 will ever really die. It'll always have a core of dedicated players. Which is what usually happens with games like this. Even a 50k average player count is pretty damn good.
I'll probably keep it installed and play a couple times a week, as are a lot of you l guys, I wager.

Dropping by again real quick to say that the devs also sound pretty autistic from what I've heard. I haven't heard this much drama with devs being spergs since Mordhau.
Off topic but I'm surprised there isn't a Mordhau thread. Though it'd probably be boring since most of the sperging there is just the devs deleting and locking any threads that they so much as smell is critical of them. Seriously check the steam discussions for instance I have never seen so many threads locked by jannies in any other steam discussion section.

Yeah I have a friend who doesn't have a PC but has a PS5 and its nice to play and talk with him because he lives a few hours away. I'll keep playing despite the BS.

Gonna give credit to something in the Polar Patriots war bond: Pummeler SMG. It is far from overpowered, but it enables Ballistic Shield builds against bots. While it may leave you vulnerable to Rocket Devastators and Annihilator Tanks, it allows you to go toe-to-toe with Heavy Devastators.

Between Shield Generator backpack and Ballistic Shield backpack, there is more tradeoff than you'd expect. Shield Generator will save your life maybe once every minute, if you're good at dodging shots. In the absence of explosions, the Ballistic Shield will last indefinitely. You are practically invulnerable from your front face when assaulting. If you need to retreat, pull out your support weapon and the Ballistic Shield will cover most shots on your back. It also has a much shorter cooldown of 300 seconds. It's a higher learning curve of play, but coupled with a Pummeler and this setup is solid.

This thread slowed pretty quickly didn't it?

They're teasing a spike in enlistment somehow? I don't know what they mean by this, a genuine large increase in real players seems unlikely. Unfortunately I think the most likely explanation is we may be getting bots joining our teams. Guess we'll see.

I've been playing with this against the bugs instead of the incendiary breaker. The stunlock + ability to run & gun is really handy.

It's teasing the SEAF beacon stratagem that lets you call in AI soldiers to fight for you.

I'm not taking a Ballistic Shield to a bug dive, but I might consider this on a briefcase mission. I've also seen that it can stunlock Stalkers.

We're getting a new strategem that drops a small team of expendable grunts to back you up.

Leakers already broke into the game code and showed it off, so it's official now.
