I've been getting Alpha Commanders pretty reliably with two swings at most, and hive guard with just the one. You can tear off both their frontal claws and leave a big gash in their head pretty good. It's pretty fun acting as Chainsaw Bodyguard for the rest of the team so they don't get ass-raped all of a sudden. You definitely need to pace yourself and learn some timing, but it's funnee.
You can pretty well disable alpha commanders with the machete and a melee perk armor too. Take out the front legs and they become far less dangerous.

And new missions type.

Rapid Acquisition is extremely chaotic that is going to be balls to the wall hard on higher difficulty levels. Fun idea through. Its like Blitz but instead you gotta steal a bunch of plat bars before the shuttle comes and picks you up.
Heavy armor, guard dog and bubble shield is basically required otherwise you just die immediately. I also recommend spear gun for both anti tank and crowd control.
Cool mission, it's like that one tug of war mission illuminate have but without 50 flying overseers to ruin it. But I already know a *certain someone* won't like it.

I get second hand cringe from most fan film stuff. I'm probably just too picky about quality.

That said when people put the effort in you can get some great stuff.

I wonder how you'd make a good Helldivers movie, anyway?
Basically starship troopers, you make everything over the top but playing it completely straight.

The new warbond gives me a mix of Doom and Catachan Jungle fighters from WH40K vibes.

WTF is wrong with redditors?

Rapid Acquisition is not that bad of a mission and people here are over reacting, it's not the best either. I like it because it is something somewhat different where you're just doing a Payday heist for platinum and the map design is honestly really easy to defend with only 4 rows/ramps for enemies to crawl from. If anything I think it's wasted potential as a solo objective mission, add this objective to the missions where you shutdown furnaces and steal plasma.

What difficulty are you playing on? On D10, it's literally nonstop factory striders, hulks, and war striders spawning directly on the objective.

The round I played there were 3 - 5 factory striders at any given time crammed into the tiny arena after about 2 minutes. Every time you kill one it would be replaced in seconds. And because of the design of the map most of the time there was at least 1 factory strider stomping around the objective surrounded by hordes of smaller bots firing explosives nonstop that would just knock you around forever until you either died or got shredded by the strider. Garbage.

What I want to know is why the bio-reactor mission has a full whack of sidequests, a much-harder-to-destroy main objective and a 12-minute timer. It feels like a mistake, like the whole thing should have had the same 40 minute timer as missions that have all those objectives.

Rapid Acqiusition would be tolerable if they removed Super Heavies from spawning. It reminds me of both the old "evac civvies" mission and Meridia's dark fluid mission where the bugs would literally spawn on top of the objective and instantly destroy it; and that was before weapons got buffed. As is it's a fucking bullshit unfair mission.

I'll admit, I play on 6 and up and I just avoid 10 because of this reason. Everything is AIDs on the max difficulty and after hundreds of hours on D10 I've gone to lower difficulties to actually have fun. I'll give the mission type a try on 10 in a bit though to get the True™ Helldiver™ Experience™.

I feel the opposite. The game is horrifically boring to me on any difficulty below Super Helldive. Guns, strategems, etc. have been buffed while enemies have been repeatedly nerfed so the only way I don't get immediately bored of the game is to play on SH where stuff actually happens.
