I decided I'd pick up the game this week after seeing some gameplay footage. I'm settling into the beginning progression loop, but before I spend this premium warbond token I figure I'd ask for suggestions here first. Are premium warbonds also purchasable through super credits, or would I have to shell out big cash some separate way? If the premium bonds can be purchased without spending more cash, I'll feel better about using this token right now to help speed my progression and get some fun toys.

premium warbonds
The token was given out because of some post-launch changes to how warbonds work as monetary compensation. I don't remember why it was given out even and I don't expect to ever see another premium token any time soon.
There are three categories of warbonds:
- Standard warbonds, right now limited to Helldivers Mobilize which have a lot more pages than a typical warbond and are given out for free by default.
- Premium warbonds, the standard for new content releases. Each one costs 1000 Super Credits. This can be made fairly quickly by regularly playing the game or dedicated farming using the super credit arrow mod to make them visible from far away. (Note that this is not considered cheating as it is merely a model replacement that adds a giant arrow to the existing pickup model and graphical mods are explicitly stated to be allowed by Arrowhead. The anti-cheat does not even interact with this mod because it doesn't alter game logic at all.)
- Legendary warbonds, tie-in content like the Killzone and ODST warbonds. 1500 Super Credits each.
I have every warbond and have not purchased a single super credit. The farming isn't that intensive and if you have a friend to shoot the shit with for an hour every few months it's pretty fun. Otherwise solo it can be pretty relaxing and a good time to just think about stuff or listen to something while you farm on autopilot.

It was given out because iirc certain versions of Helldivers came with the Steeled Veterans warbond for free. But if you bought that and already have the Steeled Veterans warbond unlocked you basically got jackshit and need to contact support or something. So this premium token was made so that people dont get cucked on a warbond they paid for.

Damn, this game can be pretty.

Super citizen edition came with the steel veteran WB, but you can upgrade your basic version to super citizen later on too. So if you bought steel veteran on the vanilla version, then upgraded to SC you got jack shit, and AH got tired of the constant steam tickets, so changed the SC edition to give you 1 WB token instead.

(peek sweedish foresight btw)

Control group WB give you the warp pack, so you can clear buddy bunkers alone by just warping in and out. And Vg-70 Variable realy fun since Ah added the quick weapon wheel selection settings so you can switch between firemode in the fly.

Steeled Veterans is a good allround package to start with IMO, and I recommend Urban Legends for the long-range anti-tank emplacement.

Did they ever fix the constant crashes people were having last year?

Yes and no. It's generally more stable and nowhere near as bad as it was before, but some people are still getting raped by their pcs. It's random.

My entire computer crashes if I dive with other people on certain planets, but doesn't if I go solo. It's a gamble,

I only had 2 type of crashes, back then while i played this game under the minimum system requirement (cpu wise), and when excessively alt tabbed out to desktop to load an other youtube video as a white noise during my play sessions.

Stopped doing those shits and the game smooth on prod_slim version ever since.

I found my new least favorite sound in the game. Saw a guy get set on fire wearing one of the fire resistant armors, and then he started spamming the laughing emote from Control Group. The mixture of maniacal laughing and the screaming was godawful.

"When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-shmancy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon - and we had to share the rock! Buck up, boy, you're one very lucky Marine!

Usually the good Lord works in mysterious ways, but not today. This here is 66 tons of straight-up, HE-spewing, dee-vine intervention. If God is love, then you can call me Cupid!"
