Is it just me or are the new players even more retarded?

I sometimes like to jump in on level 6 to help levels 25 and under, I run collecting all the samples while clearing outposts and secondary objectives along the way. Apparently this isn't doing anything to help towards the mission if you ask some of them and also despite putting down a SOS they "could have done it alone" just ignore that they're the ones who kept dying and before you ask these are PC players.

Also the Tank is God-Tier I didn't like it at first but recently something just clicked and now I'm the dedicated driver for alot of players. They're also amazing on eradication missions, due to the box nature of the maps, you just run the enemies over along the side.

You see their eyes glow in the dark, you can see them when you're driving, just run them over with your tank.

There was a sale with the start of the Cyberstan invasion recently, so there's just probably a lot of people who just don't play much games in general hopping on for the first time. I personally haven't had any horrible experiences luckily, most annoying thing I've encountered is people not calling in reinforcements quickly but I can tolerate it with newbies getting used to the mechanics.

It's probably because of the current Major Order prioritizing extractions over liberation progress which has caused a really annoying type of person to pop up in the game, especially with the limited lives we have for the invasion. People have been getting pissed at people who want to play on higher difficulties for y'know... Fun, the thing that videogames are made to provide, instead of rushing a trillion Level 4 missions for the MO. There's people also getting really angry about newbies dying when exploring into higher difficulties, probably sucks being a new player right now with these retards running around.

This mission was on a bug planet, so it didn't contribute to the MO.

Also retarded in the sense they're trying to tell me how the game works.

That's just literally how I've always played. I'm never sure what the other 3 people are doing, as I clear all the random shit off the map.

There are still people who think the MOs are authentic and not just some dude at AH flipping a coin to see if we win or not and then fudging the numbers. Sad.

It was a great concept to start with but treating it as anything but a fun larp, and seething at people for playing the game how they want to play, is just autistic beyond comprehension and those people need to be lynched.

They have been pretty blatant about it with this one too. "Oh we found some more dudes in a hole somewhere, oh and just heres more guys because plus reduced defenses because'
All smoke and mirrors and does add some engagement, but you can very easily see the man behind the curtain.

are you afraid of pressing fucking buttons, do you not know how fucking videogames work, do your eyes just not fucking function?
I'm assuming you're joking, but I have unironically seen this.

I call them HyperCasuals: almost all of them zoomer content creators and their gen alpha audience. Mega obsessed with avoiding "being cringe", which in these cases consists of things like learning how the game works or having fun experimenting.
It's always existed, but it feels like it's becoming popular again as that kinda "too cool to give a shit or put effort into anything" attitude from the 90s/00s comes back around among the Young People These Days.

It looks like the MO is a bust. It's probably because they changed it to completing Operations over extracting from missions. If I'm remembering right an Operation is an entire 3 mission suite, so naturally things will have slowed to a crawl because higher difficulty often takes much longer. If the players wanted to complete the MO they'd have all done like difficulty 4 or less and blitzed it.

We're pretty close though, and I doubt they're going to just call for a retreat from Cyberstan over this when two factories are already busted. Maybe they'll say "good work you pushed them back but it wasn't enough to fully blow the way open. Switch gears and liberate the other chain of factories so we can surround Transcendence." or something. And if they ask us to kill more squids to find another random 30 million Helldivers in cryo I swear to God, fuck the squids.

Good news Helldivers, I found 50 million more troops under my couch cushion!
The cloning facilities are fully operational.

I assume the reason why Vox engines are so overtuned is because most of the testing was probably clean room where they just load one all by its lonesome some 100m away with a set of anti tank weapons and a few programmers spent a day just loading in and taking potshots at it and playing with its health until it 'felt right'.

Personally I do think Difficulty 10 should be Halo Legendary tier bullshit, with players expected to stick around 6 - 8 for the fairer gameplay like how Heroic is famously "How it's meant to be played" but even Halo 2's Legendary has a flow to it. As it is Difficulty 10 dives are either too easy or everything everywhere all at once with no consistency or in between.

Bot sympathizers have no long-term memory

Ignoring that Cyberstan has no currency/wages and thus any "non-combatant" bots are essentially slaves designed to work on an assembly line until they die, how the fuck are you going to whine and cry about muh hecking ROBOT civilians when the bots literally make killing humans a sport. They impale people on spikes like fucking Vlad Dracula at every single one of their camps.

It's not just a cold, calculated unthinking thing with them, they enjoy killing people and mutilating their bodies. They were so good at murdering fleeing non-combatant civilians that Arrowhead had to remove an entire mission type from the game because the bots would just kill them all too fast.

non-combatant
Let's not forget that the entire galactic war has been fought on Super Earth soil and no enemy noncombatants have ever been involved--bugs notwithstanding because they're fucking bugs--unlike our civilians, up until now. If the Cyborgs are to be believed at least.

Super Earth is obviously an over the top satire but even in Arrowhead's own scenario where Super Earth is supposed to be favorably presented as the bad guys they are supposed to be, they repeatedly fail to do so. The only alternative presented is the Cyborgs which are arguably more totalitarian as they seem to have completely mangled the human form into a machine of industry. Even with Super Earth presented as it is, Joe Average is living a pretty normal life as long as he never gets in the government's way. It's a far cry from, say, the Combine. If anything it feels closer to the Hegemony or the Domain of Man from Starsector. It beats any post apocalyptic setting for sure.

Helldivers 1 had sharper teeth when it came to presenting Super Earth. Helldivers 1 has a good blend of satire and darkness, which 2 struggles to take itself seriously enough to compete with.

Also, I don't know about you fellas, but I haven't gunned down a single Automaton "civilian". If such a thing exists, I ain't seen one.

I don't know why, but I just remembered CoD MW2 where the devs had the player character participate in a fucking terrorist attack. Helldivers 2 is contented to assure us that we're the terrible, no bad, very evil guys, but at the same time, all we do is protect the innocent civilians of Super Earth. If Arrowhead really wants to show how shitty we are, why don't they have us take out the automaton civilians as a mission? Or have us shoot dissidents?

As it stands, if you fuck with the civilians too much, you get a personalized orbital strike through your traitorous skull.

Minor Order: Put 45,000,000 dissidents in gas chambers

40 Medals

If Super Earth is such heckin fascist bad guys how come we have perfect racial, sexual and gender equality.

(not even a joke, that's my favourite subtlety in the satire)
