How a draft in the USA will be implemented

(Please no talking about the draft itself, there's plenty of ongoing discussion on it anyways and it's always the same opinion.)

Judging by media talking points it seems highly likely that the USA will start a draft in the coming year. And it's interesting to think on the logistical part of it. I'm assuming the elite units will still have enough willing recuits, and the main issue will be the other 95% of army jobs that require responsibility, diligence and minimal fitness. Also no fucking way women will participate behind some administrative duties.

The big problem I see is the obesity epidemic, if in the past you could take a random guy and he'd have be good enogh for basic training, nowadays a good chunk of millenials/zoomers are not worth the effort of training due to being unfit physically (and probably mentally). Issue is that giving a pass to fatsos will probably push more to being fat and will be very unfair. Ditto gender specials which will be another way out.

Another question is if the USA will allow people to pay their way out or only allow the usual doctors note of physical disability.

Neither of the two presidential candidates have very much to lose on that front. Both can only serve one more term, are about 80 years old, and have secret service protection for life.

I think you're seriously overestimating how effective the propaganda is. If most Americans were OK with COVID and the lockdowns, they'd still be going on today. They never wanted to stop.

Nah, the bigger problem is the lack of cultural identity / nationality. I cannot foresee us getting into any current conflict going well due to how divided everyone is. We all know that the draft is likely for Israel, to which a large percentage of Americans would now be deemed as threats and unfit to fight, lest they start giving away all of America's assets to the Hamas or firing on Israel.

Even Russia has Americans willing to bat for it, and those who would are likely the types that would fight.

Would say pussy/kids is the bigger incentive, and one America severely lacks currently. If the 63% is to be believed, any group that would offer wives is guaranteed to start taking draftees away.

Iraq was able to twist people's emotions over 9/11 into a call for action. We haven't had anything like that to offer a push, and even if they created one, the growing cultural divide and distrust since that time would make it a much harder sell.

Media severely lacks influence these days and a majority of politicians are outright hated, even by their own party. There really isn't a strong vocal outlet to rally anymore.
