iirc paying rent is exactly NOT included in credit scores
apartments I've leased were more interested in first/last, deposit, renters insurance, and usually something passing a quick glance showing that you make 2x~3x the monthly rent

that still doesn't exactly answer how, but a hard pull on a credit score is a very YMMV determinant from my experience
