How do I get Hammer & Sickle? - pls halp

So there's this mythical game that's plagued my imagination for about a decade now right? The game is hammer & sickle, the sort of sequel to silent storm.

I've spent all day trying to find a way to get ahold of this game. Steam doesn't have it, GOG doesn't have it Amazon doesn't have it. There's a demo on archive.org but I already played that a long time ago, that's what gave me the hunger for some more silent storm. The only thing that I've found is a sketchy looking download here.


Supposedly this is the game, but there are a couple issues with this download. For one, the free download is throttled down do like 5 kb/s and my internet isn't stable enough to make that work, but also, the download is for a single file called "hammer-sickle.exe" which doesn't look right to me. Games are usually packed in zipped folders with more folders inside, 3+ gb games don't come in a single program so I doubt it's legitimate.
Does anyone out there in the wide kiwi world know where I can actually obtain this game? It doesn't matter if it's free or not, it doesn't matter what language it's in, it's just driving me nuts that I can't seem to get it.
Also wondering about the silent storm map editor but that's it's own rabbit hole.

This one's a turn based strategy\rpg more like wasteland. It's one with destructible buildings so you can do fun stuff like arm your entire squad with panzerfausts and volley fire into a building so you can bore a hole into it and see everyone inside.
I'm gonna see if I can get the russian one to work because the 1st one is just crawling along and I suspect the only seeder might be missing files.
The russian torrent comes with patches and cracks so I should be able to figure it out.

Update: The russian version came with a bonus puzzle game called Guess the Problem!

Now it's running, and it's kicking my ass.
In the very first level the enemies are all invincible, and they have one hit kill. on top of that, my objectives are just more question marks.
Now that's some good ol slav jank.
 
The second level was pretty good, but after that I keep getting the most annoying crashes. It's doing that thing where the game freezes on my screen so I can't alt+tab out and even if I manage to end the process I still can't get rid of it until I restart my computer. So now I don't know what to do.
 
This game never belonged to this world. Only now have I come to realize that if it doesn't wish to be played, there's nothing within my power to persuade it otherwise. I was a fool to pursue the game belonging solely to the gods of jank.
Whomst'ven'tsoever shouldn't happen to read this, get out now while you still can! Unless you happen to know how to get the silent storm level editor to work on windows 10. Also, silent storm posting in general is welcome if anyone gives a shit.

Have you tried the patches from PCGamingwiki?

The annoying freeze/lockup is caused by it using exclusive fullscreen mode, if you run it in borderless fullscreen that shouldn't be an issue. So take a look at this guide, maybe it will work, maybe it will make you punch your computer, who knows.

I still can't get the map editor to run, I think the required software might be extinct.
