How many of you Kiwis are boomers?

Being 40 plus is not a boomer. Generation X is a marvelous generation that has been afflicted wrongly by the Boomers and the (Not) Greatest Generation.
In my personal observations, every generation has their own strengths and weaknesses and uniquely endearing traits. Gen X finds itself in a unique place, sandwiched between Baby Boomers and Millennials and massively overshadowed by both in public consciousness. It's a similar situation to the Silent Generation, sandwiched in between the Greatest Generation and Baby Boomers. I've always found Gen X individuals to have a decent grasp of the pre and post-internet world, which gives them a firmer grounding with regard to making sense of the world and relating to others from different backgrounds.

I have been extremely unimpressed in my dealings with Generation Z, however. They're selfish, have absolutely no strong beliefs or convictions, severely lack critical thinking skills, see passion as a negative, and have nearly zero attention span. I've met a couple that have been good kids, but there were certainly still drawbacks that they share with their fellow Zoomers at large. Their parents essentially let technology raise them, and did so without a full understanding of the internet or the importance of placing limits. I think the only thing that saved Millennials from the same fate was when they were born, with most having at least some memories of the world prior to ubiquitous internet. I'm really hopeful that future generations can be saved by parents who have a better grasp of technology and the internet and the harm it can do.

Gen Z is like the worst parts of every generation being thrown into a blender.
