How many Roman soldiers would die trying to take down a single BTR-80?

The BTR-80 is an armed troop transport, with not a whole lot of weaponry to its name.

If you transported one back to Roman times, how many soldiers would they have to sacrifice to stop this not particularly impressive military vehicle? Would they have *any* weapons that could be effective against it?

We're ignoring the diesel fuel the BTR needs, of course it will run out sooner than later.

And of course, then there is the favorite roman receipt for sinners - they simply dump tons of oil on it and literally cook the thing and it's occupants to death.

And they did this enough to be rather good at it, sadly.

I think you might need 3-4 full grown Roman war elephants to charge and flip the BTR, and a centuria of infantry to draw fire while the elephants get into position.

It would only take 2 soldiers with an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter that was also inexplicably transported back in time, the soldiers are somehow trained in its operation. This is just as likely as a hostile BTR appearing out of nowhere so I don't think it's an outlandish answer.

Nigga, that's a 500 year window we're talking about. What time period? And are they in a fortified position? Do they have war engines like catapults or ballistas on hand?
It's the Roman military at its strongest and best form, and with all the best technology it had available until, let's say, 100 AD. I'm not OP obviously but I think that will make for the most interesting theorizing.

so you admit to being a little bitch
nothing worse in roman society than being the bottom.

As the Beatles once sang, in the end all the love you take is equal to the love you make. I'm pretty sure they were talking about the importance of being a bottom and not just selfishly demanding to be a top all the time.

You literally repeated exactly what I said, but with different words. Think much for yourself, lately?

"Sadly"??

lol, what a fag.

It might take them awhile to figure out what exactly they have to do, but if they can get some flammable liquid onto it that's a good first step.

Even today the Molotov is a relatively functional extremely cheap way to kill an armored vehicle; they all have inlets and seams somewhere.
