So this teacher got screwed over apparently. School lost important documents he already provided and forced him to pay his college $40 bucks and take sick days off to get the documentation. Otherwise he'd face firing for not having done a class he's already been doing for 3 years and was pre-approved.

Anyways what's done is done. But I was wondering, just in case someone has similar workplace issues; What would have been the best way to create a civil suit to negotiate better conditions? What evidence do you need to gather and what sort of winnings can be expected? And basically the core of my question is, how can one protect oneself legally in the workplace against obvious injustices?

youre kind of fucked in that regard, if you sue you should leave afterwards cause theyll hate your guts. If you wanna keep the job its better to shut up and take it.
But what if it doesn't necessarily go to trial. Just use a lawyer as a bargain chip? I imagine no school wants to pay a wrongful termination suit.

they might pay you off, but theyre not gonna be kind about it. Stuff like that only works in big corporations where you and your coworker are a team against coporate and you will never see the people working the lawsuits/hr threats. In small institutions/companies they will make sure to take their revenge
