I would let humans have free will, do absolutely nothing for them and then complain in my heavenly kingdom how those bums have forgotten me. I would also create this one tribe that really hates my most devouted followers and let them kill my son and then ruin my followers in the future.

I can't say what I would do would be "better" because ultimately no plan can be better than God's actual plan. What ever that may be.

But what I would do I'd probably take away free will for a while and make people do things for a while that ends up changing the state of the world to a point where it is much improved and would require a concerted effort to fuck up again. But have it seem like they're making the decisions themselves rather than being overtly puppeted.

I obviously would like freedom. But if the explicit goal was to fix the world, that's what I'd do.
