I just don't get it, bros.

It happens to the best of them. It happens to the worst of them. As a black dude, I just gotta ask: why the fuck does every single black stand-up comedian joke about being black? Why? It's so common. It's literally fucking everywhere. Every single goddamn one, except I think probably Hannibal Burress, Bill Cosby, and Kevin Hart, has got at least one bit about being black. With the same jokes and presumptions too.

I don't want to sound like a piece of shit, ignorant of other people's experiences in life, but is this really like one of the few jokes that could be made off of pretty much anything?

"Black" is not what they are joking about. Not really. They are joking about a societal phenomenon in the USA, linked with a history of racism, unemployment and poor education and ghetto. There are "black" people everywhere in the world who are not interested in the "US black culture stereoypes".

Being uncreative in the arts is the most common of things so it just comes with the territorry of any art.

Having said that, the US is an exporter of culture, sometimes for better (yay, Thomas pain!) and in this case, sometimes for worse. So a localized US stereotype has now reached global knowledge. But a black English middle class dude, a south american Kenyan immigrant and South African black people now have been culturally touched by the US black steriotypes. So yeah... it would be nice for a change to have comedy about new topics WHILE being an american person of color.

We'll have to wait for one well enlightened artist.

Because it's easy. Same reason women tend to joke about things related to being women. Hell, even white male comedians have an annoying tendency to joke about stereotypes of white dudes. They're not going for laughs based on quality joke construction or novelty, or even really comedy, they're going for laughs based on the crowd hearing a story and thinking, "Ha ha! It's so true! That's happened to me, too!" I know a Middle Eastern dude who always wants to show me these assuredly hilarious jokes from some semi famous Middle Eastern standup comedian, and every single time it ends with me staring awkwardly at the screen of his phone while he laughs uncontrollably. It's something that has simple audience appeal to a preset demographic and can help guarantee laughs. These comedians probably have lots of other bits in their set, but those aren't what people remember, so they don't get clipped and posted to YouTube. Hell, they probably get cut out of the episode when Comedy Central trims it for TV.

At least black comedians have good delivery, unlike female comedians.

Observational comedy, pretty much. That's what I take away from it, anyway.

I think Bill Cosby's made a couple "those darn black people" jokes when talking about his family and childhood (it shows in how he portrayed his parents, anyway), though maybe it was more in "The Cosby Show" than his stand-ups, if at all. But I guess it was just to point out the culture growing up since he was the generation before "da hood" as we know it.

Mostly it's because these are boring people with nothing interesting to say, so they take one "unique" part of themselves and base their entire routine around it.
I know someone who keeps watching stand-up from this one lesbian comedian (I forget her name), and it's the same deal. She doesn't even tell jokes, every "joke" is literally just "Look at me, I'm a lesbian!" as the audience roars with laughter.
