So there was a message at the top of the forum, presumably from Null, asking someone to change the font to improve the tilde (which I took to mean make it look more recognisable as a tilde).
I've never edited a font before, but I downloaded the font and used a program called Font Forge and it seems like I've improved it at least a little.
