And I don't mean getting banned from some website or from making youtube videos for posting deliberately racist content or speaking out about trannies using women's bathrooms or anything of that nature.
I'm talking about the more frightening kind of censorhip. People and even some journalists are having their articles and content taken down just for posting something that the bigwig's don't like. And I don't mean ''Muh racism'' or ''anti vax'' stuff but more genuine things and even expose's on how companies are treating employee's poorly. This type of censorhip has only been happening in the last little while, there was a time when things were allowed to get out more freely without nearly this amount of deliberate blocking.
Speaking of Covid, at the start of the pandemic there were virologists making video's on youtube suggesting covid could become airborne indoors (especially within crowded settings like on airplanes). Many of these people reported they had their video's removed after talking about this or were some how shadowbanned. In Canada, if someone, usually a journalist, write's an article about Chinese money laundering in Canadian real estate that article tends to disappear. You can't post much about this on the Canadian subreddit's (for example) without getting a prompt ban either.
Exactly what is going on here? also why has this become a bigger thing in the last five years. This is actually very frightening as people are actively suppressing online exchanges of information and opinions that used to be allowed to stay up.
