I need your help fellow kiwis! Where can I get an sdd/hdd to store my games, for cheap and reliable? maybe TMI, but I live in Argentina an one 1tb hdd cost me upwards 150 dollars (way too expensive to be honest), but I saw you can get in america 1tb for as little as 20 dollars.

So, I need help! I need an hdd fast for my growing collection of ps4 games (yeah, I know, not really something urgently, but hey is christmas and i'm on vacation).
Can you guys help me with some tips or something to get an HDD for cheap? I don't know, coupons or flash sales, or whatever...

(Also I know someone will tell me to suck it up, buy it and then call me nigger... So yeah, for that guy: I do have a job but it's way to expensive and whatever, sure call me a nigger faggot, still need the HDD)

As others have said to your first part, try ebay or Amazon if available. As to the second part, of why games are so big, it's bbecause of the explosion of 4K rendered assets, and the simple fact that modern programmers never had to worry about resource or data restraints. They didn't have to figure out how to fit an entire game into 256Kb of memory, or less.

Does OP perhaps live in a gang riddled area of argentina and therefore cannot receive normal shipments? Amazon specifically says it ships to most areas of Argentina with a flat $5 shipping rate on PC parts, so.

If you're getting a 1TB SSD for 20 bucks there's something really fucky going on
There are a bunch of them on Ebay for ~$20, from proven sellers with returns available.
Of course the challenge is that those ones are all pre-owned/refurbished, so it's a gamble on how long they're actually going to last.

You have to figure new ones are about $40, so if you strip one out of a PC and resell it you couldn't charge much more than $20.
Edit: he's talking about a 1tb HDD, not SSD.

They are retarded. If was going to buy a game and saw "Requires 160GB of free space" (I think that new Stalker remaster or whatever is that size) I would honestly be kind of mad. Imo there's a real level of audacity required to believe your game is worthy of taking up 1/6th of my biggest SSD.

Still? Isn't neoliberalism 100% yet?
Lol, no. It's just propaganda and narrative. In fact MILEI government put 2 extra taxes and it's manipulating statistics so they could ask for loans to the IMF... And for topic: shipping and customs takes a tax cut on all foreign objects (basically everything)?
I assume you cannot get an SSD through Amazon, Alibaba/Aliexpress, Ebay, or Temu?
My problem is taxes. Argentina has 2 (this month they removed a tax but because congress forget to vote for it) taxes when it comes to foreign trading: tax on earning perceptions (dynamic tax on what you buy) and VAT (value added tax). And to top that there's customs and shipping. A $20 HDD to me is like $100 HDD.
1TB should be enough if you aren't storing everything.

If you can't afford it, sell your ps4 and pirate your games on PC.
Yeah, I do that but my laptop is old...

Fucking retarded and a scam.

And no individual sellers on ebay/temu/etc will sell SSD/HDDs shipped as something innocuous that is not so heavily taxed? Like a book or tool

You should look for a company that imports goods, I personally know of one that imports goods from the US to Mexico with a fixed 20% fee. This is often cheaper than buying the already imported good from within Mexico so it's a good deal.
