Bros, I think its time we cut it down. It was a nice run, but this whole "internet" thing is turning the western world into Chris. Opinions? Is there anything good that can come from this tech anymore?

I agree; Here's an anecdotal power level, I dated a girl a while back and she, and her entire friend group, and her entire extended friend group, voluntarily associated with niche fandoms, or niche "nerd culture" to the point of obsession. I think the internet has facilitated this. People are becoming Chris because they think it's cool.

I have no idea who this guy is, but I saw this video somewhere and I think it's applicable. Zoomers today are becoming Chris on purpose because belonging to these autistic fandoms gives them a personal identity where they'd have no identity otherwise.

I recognize this, that's JrEg! I reckon this is the full video as well. You should try to check more of his content once in a while, he does a lot of videos like this.

Short answer: New human innovation always comes with upsides and downsides. Get off the internet for a few months and you'll remember what makes it good again.

Long answer: We, as a species, are fucking retarded to begin with with only a few rare exceptions rising from the muck and pushing civilisation onto it's next stages. Imagine you take this species and feed them on a diet suplified with all kinds of chemicals that you don't fully understand, move them as far away from their natural habitats as you can, you teach them to ignore their instincts, or worse, that their instincts are all wrong and discourage them from forming natural social circles and looking after themselves and then let them online.

The Internet is a tool and bullets aren't weapons until someone's loaded them into the gun and shot it; it takes more than just the Internet to make a Chris Chan, it takes all kinds of demented human intervention along the way. CWC isn't a symptom of a sickness in the Internet, he's a symptom of a sickness in humanity broadcast across the internet.
