First off, yes I know I'm a massive nerd for wanting to buy a Lightsaber. I'm comfortable with my nerdiness. :geek: :ugeek:

There is a company called UltraSabers who make custom Lightsabers that are tough enough to duel with and even have all the sounds, including the movement sound and clash when the blade hits something. You can even download different sound from different sabers. I want to get two identical sabers and couple them end-to-end to make a saberstaff a la Darth Maul.

So these are the models I'm considering. Take a look at the pics and vote for the model you like best. The models with one button on the hilt have a single color LED and the hilts with four buttons have a red-green-blue LED and allow you to change the colors by mixing red, green, and blue. So you can have red, green, blue, purple, turquoise, magenta, and yellow. I'll also post a pic of the single color LED colors that are available. If I go that route I'm leaning towards either Consular Green or Violet Amethyst (Amnyfest).

Remember, I'm planning on buying a matched pair to make a saberstaff out of, so pick the model that you think would look best as a staff.

Thanks for playing along and helping me make my nerd dreams a reality.

*Drools* Oh, fuck yes! For a dual bladed lightsaber, I'm liking Bellicose.

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan at all, but that Overlord one looks nice.

Pretty much. I got a Red Ryder BB gun for my 8th birthday.

I liked the Scorpion. It'd look neat, having more coloured light coming out of those vent things.

Rather fond of that Violet Amethyst on a Raven lightsaber.

Like this?

Here it is as a staff in Arctic Blue.

Whatever you get, DON'T get the Monarch handle. To me, it looks like a fancy dildo and frankly, who wants a fancy dildo for a lightsaber handle?

As a stand alone saber I agree, but as a staff I thought it might look cool. But, now that you brought it up, yeah it's totally a dildo.

I have to go guardian in arctic blue or adegan silver.

So I was looking on UltraSabers website and noticed that they do a "grab bag" saber for $55. Basically they pick a random saber hilt, so you don't get to pick the model or if it's silver or black, and it doesn't have sound, but you can pick the color it glows (not the red-green-blue LED however, it can only be a single color) or you can also have the color be random. There may be some cosmetic blemishes but the saber will work and be warrantied for as long as you own it. So you get a custom lightsaber for only $55. It would be great for anyone who is on a budget but wants to get a few with their friends so they can sparr together. I think it would be awesome to see some other CWCki forum members besides me get one.

So I've decided to enter into the world of nerd-dome at a full sprint. I'm going to make a full Sith Lord costume. Maybe go to a couple ComicCons and, of course, have a bad ass Halloween costume.

I'd probably prefer Dark Arbiter because it looks like it has the smoothest grip you'd have in terms of comfort of use in combat. Same with Monarchs. Though the "rivets" on top of the Arbiter is what probably makes the grip more well... you know, less loose from what I think. I see people make cross-hatches on handles on knives or other such weapons to ensure a better grip on the weapon so that sweaty palms would be less of a pain to deal with.

Might want to think about joining the 501st Legion, in that case.

I think the 501st Legion only deals with screen accurate costumes. Mine will be totally custom.
