I worked In a Mental Hospital (with both Criminally committed and civilly committed patients)

I worked there for 5 years, I guess it depends on what you call major but probably alot? I was probably involved in 2 or 3 assaults /week. We had one criminal patient that caused over 50 staff injuries in a 30day span (only about 20 requireing time off)

And you've worked there for FIVE years? Man, I wonder if you could take a pounding from me for five years. ;)

I didn't fuck any patients, however 4 coworkers got caught fuckin pts while I worked there, and 3 the year before i started. None of the patients where mentally handycapped so, if one is going to touch your donger, they're going to blackmail you until they ruin your life. But alot of people that I worked with were broken ass humans.

So we had this guy who had been in the hospital for 30 or so years straight. I'll call him Chris. He came in when he was 22 or so and in college. He had a football scholarship and was a half back, when I started working there he was nearing 60 but still a big fuckin guy. Schizophrenic, on enough meds /day to fully kill 2 or 3 people. He thought or pretended I was his son. We had this other guy who had stage 4 lung cancer and had to be on a large oxygen condenser 24/7. The one the hospital gave him was old AF and these older ones make this horrible blaring noise when you first turn them on. So another staff member was setting one of these up in the solarium for dinner for this man with cancer (err, this thing is on wheels, is about 50lbs, and like 2'x2'x3'). She turns this thing on before getting that patient out of bed. This patient Chris is about 10 feet away and when the thing blares it's turn-on-noise he shields himself like its going to explode. When it didn't he jumped up, ran to this fuckin thing, picked it up like a football and charged down two hallways to the big 120lb main metal doors and started kicking them to try to bust them open, then started yelling at me "SON, OPEN THE FUCKIN DOORS OR WE'RE ALL DEAD, DEAD GODDAMMIT!!!" I tried as hard as I could to not laugh, "It's not a bomb, and you know I can't let you out". He fuckin throws this thing at me (idk, 20feet or so) and yells "THEN YOU'RE OUT OF THE FUCKIN WILL SON, IF WE EVEN SURVIVE. YOU HEAR ME?!?!?!" then walked back to eat dinner

So the guy who caused 50+ injuries in one month was a russian immigrant who had schizophrenia. He wasn't a big guy (like 5'8'' 140lbs (tho being on a criminal ward half or so of the staff couldn't work there and many of the newbies thought he was huge)).
A big part of why he caused so many injuries was because he came into a ward when a new psychiatrist started (each ward being managed in part by a single psychiatrist who gets to make up many of the rules for that ward) who was incredibly anti-meds, AND had the idea that having multiple staff around him would provoke him into an altercation.
He was in a seclusion room for over 20 days straight and the Dr. in question wanted to go into the room to speak with him directly 2x a day, every weekday. She would also pressure whatever nurse manager was on that ward to only send in one single male staff member (which ALMOST never happened).
Eventually the director of psychiatry (after 50days of shit like this) took over direct management of the ward and she had to play assistant to him for a while.

I did work night shift like, idk 10 total shifts in that time, no paranormal stuff. Tho huge portions of the staff swore that full moons made the patients get wild, I never felt like that was true.

I'd rather not say which hospital, but it was in the pacific northwest

So, wait, was it the type that someone could check themselves in when feeling like they're a danger (homicidal, suicidal, the likes)? If so, what was your plan to get these people to exit out?

The last time I stayed in one of these it was literally nonexistant with some Chinese doctor I'm not sure he had the right credentials for the job.
