If aliens ever contact us, how long would it take before progressives harp on "alien rights" or "specism"?

Probably not long considering it would happen immediately after someone tried to rape or threatens to rape the aliens.

Any alien race worth their salt would take advantage of our overly-accepting nature as part of a psyop. It'd be like The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street, only instead of using our paranoia to turn us against each other, they pay journos to write smug, annoying puff pieces about how it's insensitive to condemn the aliens for harvesting your organs and how anal probing is a violation of human rights and why that's a good thing.

If they found us and got to us, we're oh so fucked. I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.
A warlike race could never last long enough to develop FTL travel. Which is why humans never will. Any race with sufficiently advanced technology to travel faster than light would have to be peaceful, and they'd be so advanced they probably wouldn't even notice us. We'd be like ants on the side of the highway to them. They know we're there somewhere but they wouldn't give a shit because we don't matter.

I feel like any advanced enough species to contact us would eradicate the progressives as soon as they got wind of them. No species can advance when it's too caught up in arguing about mean words being harmful. I'm not even being facetious, I think the whole thing is a cancer on society where scientists have to pause and talk about how the word "colonize" might be "problematic" when talking about colonizing Mars.

If they've mastered interstellar travel, I'm guessing those aliens will be telling us what to call them. And they'll probably give us new names too, like Toby.

No slurs either as the diversity training if you slip up will be to launch your ass on a collision course with Venus.

sounds like sci fi wankery, nobody has any clue what life outside earth may or may not be like. make up whatever imaginative fiction you want but don't act like it's representative of reality

They don't have to be warlike even, they could be "peacefully terrible" to us, do things for "our own good" or some nihilistic reasoning etc.

And we could be rare enough to be worth messing with, intelligent life isn't that common as far as we know.
