Would you take immortality in the form of having your mind transferred into a robotic body?

I'd live for a few billion years but not forever because time would begin to repeat itself very quickly.

what happens when earth is inhospitable? Will I just float around in space forever? Or by immortality do you mean like, never aging?

I've been trying to find a way to make this happen since I was six years old.

Only if I was already going to die because that's probably just making an imperfect copy of you while the actual you is just dead. Something vaguely like you continues existing, though.

Only if I get a mega man arm.
Machine gun when I need it, dragon dildo, hand, spatula or what ever I need at the moment, assuming I beat the robot boss whom had it before me.

I rather die in a battlemech than be a robot though.

Yeah but how will you enjoy all that sweet sweet future china

If it was just my mindthat got transferred, as opposed to my brain , then it wouldn't really be me. It would be a copy of my mind taken from some time before the real me dies. As far as I would be concerned, I'd still die.

If somehow it was possible to literally take my mind out of my head and put it in the immortal body of a mighty robot... still no. After a few centuries you'd have done everything there is to do. Your friends and family would be long dead and everything you know would have changed beyond recognition.

Shit, that's a hard question. I'm going with the assumption that the robotic body will be like the human body.
On one hand, I become a fucking robot. I can be repaired, I can kill someone with my bare hands, I can still mostly enjoy what I like as a human, and I can modify myself to be an even cooler robot.
On the other hand, I become a god damn robot. I lose my dick, I can probably be turned off/controlled/messed around with by technologically competent nerds, I can't reproduce, maintaining current relationships would probably become harder, people might not trust/like robo-me too much, simple pleasures like eating/sleeping/drinking would become impossible to experience, and I would probably want to end my life after a certain amount of time.

I'd probably go with becoming a robot anyways. I think the potential in being a robot and the cool factor outweighs most of the negatives.

If I was immortal then the chances of the most painful shit happening to me jumps up by 100%. My chances of getting struck by lightning jump to 100%, for example.

There's no point if everyone else becomes a robot too. You'll eventually just end up getting drafted into being cannon fodder in some kind of future robot war that will be 10X as violent as regular human wars. I guess it could be cool if you were one of only a few robots and you looked like a regular human and could be a secret robot and still bone and stuff.

No, death is a fitting end for a human. And besides, what if the robotic body was then destroyed by the expanding sun?
