I recently got a gash on my shin from walking into the corner of an open draw. Now it hurts to walk around and stings.

I also bruised my toe ligament on holiday once. Right when I was visiting the zoo :( Other than that I haven't really had any noteworthy wounds.

So, what other injuries have you kiwis or people you know experienced?

I suffer cracked corneas every few months due to the type of contact lenses I use. They are supposed to physically reshape my corneas, but sometimes the pressure exerted is too much and the corneas will develop hairline cracks near the center. Luckily the soft tissue can heal up in a few days, but in that time, bright lights and reading text is quite painful for the affected eye, which is pumping out tears like a fire hose and making vision blurry in that eye

chipped eye socket when I was a kid from tripping and eye-butting a chrome table corner
fell off a building, busted open my knee and permanently damaged my kneecap
about a year after that, I hit that knee and it exploded and wouldn't stop bleeding, so I had more operations on it. There was concrete embedded in the joint.
dislocated shoulder and tore rotator cuff taking a poor fall in a jui jitsui grading (did the rest of the grading, still passed)
tore the ligaments in my ankle playing sportsgames
dislocated my toe falling over on a wet shower floor
chopped the end off my thumb chopping pineapple. It grew back but wonky looking
cut though the nerves in my thumb opening a box in a stupid way (only got the feeling back a couple of years ago)
tore the ligaments off a couple of fingers breaking up a fight between my now-fiance's dog and another dog. (we did not get together over this)
had the emotional torment of hangly shutting down TNE

e. I'm only listing stuff that lasted permanently or left a mark, the stuff that heals up is another story

I got stabbed in the thigh once. It was extremely unpleasant and I still have a scar from the incident. That is the worst injury I ever had in my life (Of course, not including emotional scars, which I consider far worse.).

The absolute worst injury I heard of was way back in my elementary school years, my maths teacher's son fell from a cliff during a school field trip...He survived the fall, but passed away a month later, after much tears and suffering. He was ten years old and three days close to his birthday.

...I hope you all get better soon :(

I girl I knew who walked too close to the farm machinery where she was working, and had her thigh ripped open from bottom to top. They were stacking hay bales with the help of a tractor, and one of the prongs on those triple-prong things they use to lift the bales went right up her leg. She survived and can walk just fine, but most of her thigh is scarred horribly. She almost bled out in the field, fuck knows how she didn't die while waiting for an ambulance.

My hands are pretty beat up. All sorts of weird scars I have no idea how I got. I have a bunch of fingernails that don't grow in right from smashing them in various things. I lost part of another finger in a chain drive. No reattaching that one. It was pulped.

Other than that I have lived a charmed life. Though I am getting old and shit is starting to hurt for no reason.

...jesus christ, I'm guessing there's no other treatment for your corneal condition apart from these miniature torture devices?

Broke my right hand in a fight and the bone was poorly set, so the pinkie joint is out of line with the rest of my knuckles and hurts when I grip things tightly.

Lots of scars on my hands, shins, knees.

Not much else. I've been really lucky as far as permanent injuries go

Edit: I got some mean tinnitus from shooting guns and riding loud race or straight piped dirt bikes and snowmobiles from about 12 to 19 years old with no ear pro, and then playing in bands in garages and on stage again with no real ear pro. The damage is done there.

Fractured orbital eye socket. If your vision is unaffected and your eye doesn't droop then there is no reason for them to cut a slit in your eyelid and insert what could be called a guitar pick for structure stability.

Right ring finger fractured and boney build up since the 80's from playing football. Cant' extend it fully after all these years. They'd have to go in and break it again and shape it to function normally. Meh, I got use to it.

I remember running around my house like an autistic little shit, screaming and dancing when I was 10-12 year old. Well, after about 10 minutes of activity, I hit my pinkie toe on a door so fucking hard, I thought stars came out of my eyes and I fell to the floor. I couldn't move my toe for a week after that, but somehow I didn't break it. In retrospect, I think that experience cured my bad behaviour and autism, so I guess that was a good thing? :\

My dad actually lost a little bit of his finger two years before that, because I distracted him while he was working with a sawblade. I fucking hate younger me so much. :(

When I was a kid I jumped off the counter pretending I was peter pan and bit through my lip.

Another time I was looking for my mom's haircutting scissors and fell through the floor into the crawlspace.

A few years ago at work I tripped on a palette and smacked my face into a metal cart causing a black eye.

I have matching scars over both eyes. I've had my top and bottom teeth put through my bottom lip on separate occasions. My right forearm is pretty scarred up from getting attacked by a pitbull. I broke every bone in my leg once. I've broken most of my toes at least once. I know I must've broken a finger or two but I can't remember. I'm positive that I've (at least slightly) permanently damaged my hearing from going to loud shows. If I focus my attention on it I can hear the ringing, but my brain edits it out otherwise.
