The closest thing I can find to a proper hands on hobby thread is the Health and Fitness board, there's a few threads in there that focus on Formula 1 and NASCAR, so those gents may be mechanically inclined. But what about other stuff? Carpentry, home remodel, gardening, automotive repair, welding, tailoring, leather working, smithing, underwater basket weeving, ... fuck even animal husbandry.
Want to discuss with other Kiwis about the chicken coop you built out of reclaimed amazon boxes? Do you wander why the chickens you bought have webbed feet and quack? Is your toilet supposed to constantly make the noise of running water? What is that loud chirping I hear in my apartment? Maybe someone here knows why the engine of your 1991 Honda Civic keeps catching on fire whenever you start it.
Personally I have a few hobbies. Raising, animals, gardening (maybe I'll make a thread about banana peppers), and working on motorcycles. Currently I'm restoring a 1974 Yamaha dirt bike and thought it might be fun to document it. This is a ground up, frame off, restoration and I may be in over my head so perhaps I could learn from others here, or perhaps they might learn from me.
