Is Elon Musk planning to run for public office?

In the past couple months Elon Musk has been making some interesting moves that seem somewhat out of character. He has been getting involved in political discussions on Twitter and taking sides in debates which he typically avoids. He made a stance on gun control and even shat on the Biden administration and democrats while openly stating he will be voting Republican next term. His purchase of Twitter being one of his most notable movements recently, it begs the question if this is part of plan to secure his run for some sort of political office.

With control of Twitter he can ensure he won't be censored by the political left and he can cozy up to Republican politicians by ensuring they can have free speech without threat of censorship. He even said banning Trump was a mistake and that he intends to bring him back. He knows Twitter was key to Trump's acension to President in 2016 and that Twitter's ban has basically erased Trump from public eye. He knows how powerful Twitter is and if he were to run for a public office.

He may also be planning just to ally himself with the Republicans and gain political power that he isn't getting with the Democrats. Obviously he can't be President because he wasn't born in the US, but perhaps he is trying to gain political power and influence?

What do you think? Is Musk making some big brain plays?
 
He may be laying groundwork but I dont see it happening too soon. In any case he's got my vote if he keeps pissing off the libs.

On the other hand, he never promised in particular to create a military AI that turns against humanity, so, it's still on the table.

Has he run private crowdfunding? Most of his money comes from government loans.

No shit, but your statement made it sound like he was crowdfunding something. At least he paid back his government loan. Unlike that solar panel company, Solyndra.

Subsidies notwithstanding - as that seems industry based - he seems to get most of his capital from banks.

Also did he change his mind on AI? Because last I heard he hated AI and preferred making humans into Ghost in the Shell shit. Which is a different kind of retarded.

He's not bringing Trump back to Twitter either. Trump himself said he wouldn't go back and passive aggressive mocked Elon for buying the joint.
