Once upon a time someone in chat said "Sometimes this forum is like twitter but right wing, or another showcase of horseshoe theory if you think too much about it" and some weeks after that I remembered it and then I thought to myself "hey, i should ask that on Q&A, see what do people think about that"

And so I did; Your thoughts?

EDIT!: I was told offsite to also ask "Is KF some sort of anti-reddit?" just to spice things up.

Some say it used to be, but there is evidence that kiwifarms has always had a leftist minority presence. Now with the terf demographic, and even some normies I would say the website is more ideologically diverse than ever, significantly more so than pre elon twitter. Even if we say it is still majority "Dissident right" (for lack of a better term) there is diversity within that faction as well here, as proven by the eternal spergout ongoing in A&N between those who despite their differences would both be painted as identical nazi's anywhere else.

There's definitely a lot of the "say correct opinion, receive stickers" mentality going on, leading to a lot of repetition in threads. It feels like people are now less interested in nuanced debate, laughing at oneself, or even good old-fashioned shitposting. It varies widely depending on the forum and the topic though. Generally feels like more obscure topics are less affected, but to be fair, the same holds true for Reddit.

I don't really get how Kiwi Farms is right wing and X is left wing. This might have been true 5 years ago, but X is full of right wing discourse and Kiwi Farms has always only been right wing insofar as it is politically incorrect and not necessarily right wing in a sense that actually ideologically aligns with any conservative or traditional ideology. Right wing in a purely surface level and performative way, but in reality very anarchic and not at all caring for transcendent metaphysical realities like God or the soul

KiwiFarms feels more like a civilized sane society despite it's autism, it's a really well balanced system of people with standards. Twitter is full of severely autistic right wing people who often scam people with their crazy conspiracy theories and treating them as real. For example, many of them are flat earthers and claim to be one to go beyond the ice walls. Others claim to know how to make Nikola Tesla contraptions but they often cheat with special effects when constructing "mind blowing" contraptions. Many of them treat Donald Trump as the messiah. Not to forget twitter is flooded with porn bots and people over fight each other over politics. It's funny though because before Musk bought Twitter. It was full of severely autistic troons and you would get banned for misgendering someone and right wingers were constantly censored. Either way, I hated twitter then but I hate twitter even more when Musk bought it. I actually like Threads better than Twitter as crazy as it may seem.

But yeah KF is only """right wing""" by definitions of mentally ill people who have to paint everyone against them as wrong. Outside of the Autism boards this is a fairly apolitical gossip site for laughing at retards.
The largest agreed on political issue on this site would be that of free speech. Which flip flops being called "right" or "left" depending on what history book page you are on
