Josh went on a rant about Lain once during his livestreams like a couple years ago talking about how much he hated it after watching it recently. I suspect he still watches anime occasionally, despite how much he shit-talks it.

I think anime is one of those things where even though kissless neckbeards comprise the majority of its audience, there's an increasing amount of normies getting into it. Especially with zoomers, it seems like it's becoming a DnD-type phenomenon where twenty/twenty-five years ago it was almost strictly niche (with Western audiences, anyway) and now you have the high school quarterback watching monogatari.

That being said, anime definitely attracts degenerates, but the idea that it singlehandedly converts incels into trannies and pedophiles is ludicrous; those people were fucked from the start and would have found some other outlet for their degeneracy.

I'm genuinely convinced Josh either plays up his hatred of anime for laughs (more likely) or he's projecting. The whole "anime breeds trannies" meme is the same thing as "violent video games create mass shooters" from the 90s and 2000s.
