Is Piracy A Sin?

I googled this awhile back to fairly poor results, most basically saying piracy is stealing therefore sin. I saw an argument about this again recently in a comment on one of Trent Horns videos, mostly making the same points, but if IP was abolished tomorrow, is it suddenly not a sin? Is piracy even theft? debate it in this thread.

It really depends on how you look at stealing as a sin. First of all, is depriving someone of ownership of an object a sin or is it acquiring his work without compensation? And if the latter, does it follow when it's not a person who made it but an organization that might have nothing to do with the production? What if you buy the object a year after when its price became far lower?

Personally I see the case for both, but if I can't get a copy due to ridiculous price or lack of the devs making it possible to me to buy/rent legally then I'm not a customer anyways and I'm not depriving them for downloading a torrent.

Yes, because we don't want land lubbing moralfaggots on the torrent sites.

Go pay Slomo, golem.

Nobody can answer that at this point.
You should pay creators if you like their stuff, even if you get it for free.
But these days with massive, souless, devil worshiping, wealth oriented scumbag publishing companies owning most of the rights and taking most of the dough for next to no work, who's the bigger thief here? The mobsteresque corporation or the pirate who's usually too poor to buy Super Mario which he enjoys so much in a depressing reality run by the same corporation?
If game prices were fair, you'd actually own the stuff you buy, there'd be no piracy to begin with.

They won't let me give them money for a copy of Driver San Francisco anymore even if I wanted to so IDK. I hope it's not.

Piracy is not only not a sin, it is your duty. So much media these days is such utter dogshit, it's not even good enough to pirate, but if you can't boycott it, then piracy is the next best thing. The real sin is giving one red cent to the sort of malodorous cunt slime who would do this to Cowboy fucking Bebop:

The same people that tell you Piracy is bad, are the same people who believe men can be women. Don't listen to the corporare niggercattle propaganda, the WWW was designed for file sharing and the free-trade of all ideas and creations.

Unfortunately some jew fuck decided to ruin human wholesomeness to add a few shekels to his coin purse.

I'd argue that piracy is actually virtuous if, after you have paid for something, you then immediately start handing it out for free to anyone who asks.
