I am fairly young so I might just be running to this thread to tell everybody that water is wet (and I am) but US politics really just seems to be two sides of the same coin:

Republicans will cry scream and shit about the national debt when a Democrat is in office, but they're in the middle of passing a bill that will increase the budget by $5 trillion.
Democrats will laugh at QAnon niglets sneeding over how the 2020 election was stolen but you can go on reddit and see that Trump and Elon stealing the 2024 election is a strong narrative.
Both sides will bomb retarded middle east sandnigger countries (not for bad reasons, mind you) but only the side that isn't in power will think thats a bad thing.

It seems, despite the blatant nature of this, people don't realize this or more commonly, they do realize it, sneed about it a little bit but ultimately never change their opinions and remain in this team-sports like state due to the overwhelming environment/groupthink nature of politics. Unfortunately, theres not really a solution one can provide for this besides lol vote third party/start your own party which doesn't really work.

What do you all think about this, and is there a solution that could be implemented, or is the current political system too deeply embedded into our country?

Honestly if the country wasn't run by retarded niggers on both sides and NATO pulled its weight we'd be fine.

We could probably cut the military budget from 16% to like 5% if we made the rest of NATO pull its weight.

The VA budget (measly 4% of the federal budget but still) would drop over time as we would stop paying health/pensions after we send our gimps to janky ass areas and make them drink retarded tapwater, inhale shit-fumes and get blown up.

Social Security (33%) probably should've been a fund you pay into that goes into an investment account run by Vanguard or something, not to merely pay for the generation ahead of you (im not too knowledgeable on this but its pretty retarded)

Not too sure on Medicare and such but I have no idea why 27% of the countries budget is spent on healthcare, we can probably resolve this by killing everybody over the age of 60 and killing all minorities but I'm not sure about a finer solution to that besides "lol use your SS checks to pay for health insurance sink or swim"

I did want to put down that it wasn't exactly an issue of ideology, more-so of intelligence. Obviously you shouldn't 100% subscribe to one political parties beliefs because theres no chance in hell that you actually do, and I think people know this but still refuse to change anything.

It’s pretty simple. 85% of the voting public are just LARPing retards that have no real understanding of how the government or economy functions, nor do they have any real coherent overarching philosophy about either. So many people obsess about politics to the point of making it their entire identity, yet pretty much every single one of them has never so much as even attempted to read a bill in their lives. The only reason they care is because it is constantly at the forefront of TV/social media, if it wasn’t for that, half of them would probably never vote.

For them, being conservative or liberal is pretty much a decision about what type of image they want to project. Old-fashioned, blue collar, country/rural/Southern vs. Cosmopolitan, modern, college-educated urbanite.

It’s not a political issue, it’s a cultural one. People should be mocked to their faces for giving the slightest fuck about TV news networks and/or political pundits on any platform, regardless of their leanings, because they are stupid fucking narcissistic marks that make society worse for everyone.

Politics is treated as a spectator sport in the US because the people in charge want us distracted. If we took politicians and policies seriously, we would have demanded annual elections a long time ago and would have long since brought back tarring and feathering.

The point the OP brings up really is something that bothers me, and which I often argue in places about--especially here on KF.

I often advocate that people whose morals will change when it benefits them don't have any real morals and are little better than psychopaths. True morality applies regardless of the situation. If you think war is bad, you can't be okay with it when your side does it. If you think murder is bad, you can't cheer when Democrats get gunned down.

The furthest I ever allow myself to go is "I understand why that person did that, but I don't agree with him."

And most of the time all hypocritical morality does is serve to give your enemies ammunition. Then suddenly they're laughing when you get gunned down. And the cycle repeats.

I think the only solution is 8 year terms instead of 4 years. Most economic policies don't show the full picture in a short 4 year window, they're meant to have a lasting effect. Like Trump's plan on deregulation and less tax on companies operating within the U.S likely won't see a full picture until 2040 or some shit if those policies remain in action. It's the constant flip-flopping of two drastically different systems that causes lasting damage and unless those remain in action for a larger timeframe nobody will ever see anything other than what the other side can weaponize in the next election cycle.

The thing that legit pisses me off is that short sighted-morons will call you a fence-sitter or enlightened centrist for pointing out that both sides do the same shit.
