Japan is answering the problem of too many wild boars creatively: by scaring them off with robotic wolves.
The wolves, which have fangs, fur and red eyes, are being implemented to help farmers protect their crops from the growing wild boar population, Earther reports.
The wolves were tested last summer, and the product will now be produced and available all over Japan.
The 'animals' are 20 inches tall, and they howl when another creature approaches them.
Sometimes called the 'Super Monster Wolf', the invention runs on batteries that are solar-rechargeable, and its range is greater than half a mile.

The wolves are $5,000 each, and they can produce a variety of howls, which serve to confuse wild boars and keep them away from farmers' crops.
Japan's wild boar problem is growing, and the animals are now negatively affecting the country's northern regions.
The wild boars are native to all regions of the country except the North.
The species was not known to be able to survive winters there, but they have multiplied in the area because climate change has allowed them to thrive there.
