Groat's stories are always interesting from an observer's perspective because if you take them at face value, they're really fairly believable (usually) and if they were true it would be something worth sympathy. I mean, he didn't claim his ex-wife dumped all his old stuff on his lawn, set fire to it, and then nailed the divorce papers to his cat... she just waited to finalize it until his birthday, which really, that's a pretty vindictive stunt to pull and if that was all there was to it then yeah, that'd be sort of cunt-y.

But with Groat you just never fucking know if the story is 1) true and 2) he didn't do something to directly set off that particular vindictive act, like calling her up and asking if he could still have his birthday blowjob even if they were split.

Same thing with the alleged social media tarring and feathering. Yeah, maybe she's going all over social media deliberately trying to make him look worse as revenge after the breakup... people do that shit all the time. Perfectly believable, and again, something you might almost feel bad for him for because that's a shitty thing to do to someone. But again, it's Groat, so you don't know if the supposedly libelous posts are actually just complaints about shit he actually did like "Ugh he drove by the house slowly in his shitty beat up truck again and I think there was a gun in the gun rack".

The son was the first born and grown up now. Not sure if the daughter is over 12 or under 18.

Jim's marriage has in a way been an example of what things would have been like if Chris got a wife and his promised daughter Crystal. He'd fart around all the time, never contribute anything to the household, never raise the kid, and expect the wife to be the breadwinner AND have dinner ready by 5PM. Chris would lose it all through his laziness, and Jim lost it all through being selfish.

As much as I hate criticizing it, she totally butchered that room by painting the hard wood floors green. I don't care if it is a kid's room, nobody ever paints hard wood floors like that. That'd be like replacing the hard wood floors with linoleum. Good luck reselling that house.

Groat apparently had several offers from at least one guy to buy the Red Shetland IP off of him. Apparently the guy thought that a horse version of Red Sonja could be made to sell (or at least sell to furries), and was willing to give Groat a pretty decent amount of money for the IP and all his print run that he's been trying to unload for years.

Groat refused.

Now, this was not a $20 and half a case of beer offer, we're talking actual comics industry level money (maybe not Big Two level industry money, but maybe Dark Horse level money). So there are two options here... one, Groat is just too attached to his lame parody and still thinks he's going to hit it big with it someday (possible), or he actually thought the guy would come back with an even bigger offer, possibly in the seven figure range (my bet).

Basically it's like if Sega and Nintendo actually teamed up and offered Chris $2,000,000 for the rights to Sonichu and he blew them off hoping they'd come back and meet the demands he made in his recent video.

Wasnt this like 10-15 years ago? With Print dying the way it has been he pissed away a lot of money. Theres also many factors as to why the value of that IP keeps decreasing.

• With each passing year new furry fans enter the fandom and never have heard of Red Shetland
• Again print is dead especially in the furry fandom
• Rampant piracy
• Competition from other artists who can make decent digital releases of any comic pretty easily these days. I doubt Groat even has modern computer software for drawing.

There are barely any print comics still around. Extinctioners is barely hanging on by a thread and hasnt had a print comic release in years. Dreamkeepers is probably the only thing thats afloat and thats somewhat tenuous at best. Then theres Twokinds which occasionally gets some print extras. Genus and other stuff from Radioworks was still happening about 5 years ago but that seems to be dead.
