TL;DR: I don't know if I should trust Boomers/Gen X or Millennials/Zoomers. Both outlooks amongst these generations are agreeable, but they're both retarded.

I wonder who I should trust in these horribly autistic times. Some days I lean towards the Boomers and Gen-X'ers. They lived through economic and political strife while growing up. The generation before them lived through world wars. If you can survive long enough to see the culture and economy thrive and tumble, along with the fear of nuclear war, who says we can't. But often I find these people are far too out of touch. I have a hard time believing people who look to CNN, Fox, etc as trusted sources.

Some days I find that people my age have a bit of a more realistic outlook (kind of). Fear of possible doomsday is hard to compare with promised, definite doomsday. Not to mention that everything has been a bit of a nightmare since 9/11. The mid-2010s going into the 2020s has offered us shitstorms that tear many of us down. So I feel like it's a bit reasonable to feel hopeless. But the problem is that Millennials and Zoomers are heavily medicated, self pitying faggots who think they're nonbinary|power bottom|dem socialist|bipoc activists🏳️‍🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤 who want to fuck anime girls and cartoon dogs. If not that, they're cum dumpster sluts or basement dwelling chronic masturbaters (who also hunger for anime girls).

It stands on the edge of a knife.

We've given into decadence, we don't believe in hard work despite experiencing the fruits of others' hard labors on a daily basis. We celebrate people that are pretty on a screen and denigrate those that make the food we eat.

It's hard to trust most people not to backstab you.

I'm a Millenial but I have a hard time trusting people of my own generation, even some of the people I'd call close friends. I try to gently guide them but I fear overplaying my hand. Most Millenials are beaten down and indoctrinated heavily into the globohomo lifestyle, and even the ones that don't want any part of that are indulging in the porn, consoomerism and hard drug use.

I think that's bullshit.

These people absolutely do not not believe in hard work, it's just that they don't know where to put their work where it'll mean something. Nigger, back in my grandfather's day a high school drop out could work 40 hours a week and support a family of 5, not to mention there was way less overhead because they could fix a lot of their own shit (of course they had to take bullets to enable that life, so they earned it)

Tons of people are willing to bust their asses, to the point that in a lot of cases they have nothing else. They may as well live in a fucking pod because they work 60 hours a week running themselves ragged and are so hollowed out and castrated from the experience they have no identity outside that. That's how it is, either you participate 100% on the system's terms or you don't participate at all.

This ridiculous portrayal of things having fallen apart due to moral degredation that weirdo outcasts in places like this love so much is such a fucking dim witted and insulting take. There is absolutely nothing wrong with most of these people, they are not doing anything wrong. They just don't know what to do. They would do the right thing if it was easy or obvious, and if anyone thinks the answer is easy or obvious then they're wrong.

Sounds to me like the only guidance you're willing to offer is words, which there's no shortage of, so I think they could do without. People today need others to lead by example. Put up or shut up.

Look I'm not trying to get into every single factor that has turned millenials and zoomers into decadent burnouts that have just live to jerk off and consoom. These aren't new problems, they're just amplified by the conditions of the time and the "weirdo outcast" lifestyle has been hyped up and made to look more attractive by people on the internet. People are desperate for community and fulfillment, and just like cults, there are always people looking to draw the lost in.

Economic factors have certainly affected us- wages stagnating, western jobs got outsourced, the housing market being impenetrable in many areas, and being saddled with student debt hasn't helped. Working harder, taking a second job or overtime or whatever- it can get you a little further over the top, but your health and sanity suffers, you don't get to spend as much time on what you love. Boomers are completely confused that things aren't like when they started working in the 70's.

The internet over represents tiny retarded minorities and it fuels impotent hive minds like Reddit. Cable news encourages the same hysteria because people watch more news when they’re afraid. Socialize more IRL and most people aren’t like that. r/antiwork gets so much attention because most of our generation thinks it’s astonishingly dumb.

The post 1865 era generations that said nigger in public probably said their generation was oversensitive because they weren’t allowed to buck break anymore. The generations before that probably said the youth are getting soft because they weren’t allowed to tar and feather loyalists like their granddaddies could.

Technology does make people physically softer but mentally healthy people will always have a drive to be productive. It’s hardwired like the urge to eat and fuck. People have been saying they’re doomed for as long as history has been recorded. The SJW thing is a trend that is already waning.

I think you're overreacting. Throughout history the average person was always a degenerate sheep who just did as they told and believed in whatever the king/emperor/pope told them too. When they weren't working they just went off to go have sex with some hooker and to run after pleasure and whatever made them fell good when they had the free time. We were always somewhat like this, this type of behavior is really nothing new.

I think you're drastically underestimating the intelligence of the average person throughout history. Yes, there have always been those in positions of power who have taken advantage of their position to control and manipulate others, but that doesn't mean that everyone was just a blindly obedient sheep. In fact, many people throughout history have fought against oppression and injustice, even at great personal risk. And as for sex workers, they have always existed as well - it's not like this is something new either. What I do think is new (and very dangerous) is the way that social media and technology are being used to control and influence people on a mass scale.

With things like "filter bubbles" and echo chambers, it's becoming increasingly easy for people to only ever see information that reinforces their existing beliefs, regardless of whether or not those beliefs are accurate or true. This can lead to confirmation bias and ultimately make it much harder for people to critically evaluate what they're seeing/hearing. Additionally, platforms like Facebook and Twitter allow anyone with an internet connection to reach a huge audience with whatever message they want - regardless of how factual or accurate it may be (see: fake news).

Fighting against oppression and injustice is really a modern thing, the average Roman or medieval peasant saw those in charge of them to be chosen by the Gods/God and they didn't want to defy them. Outside of that I have to agree because you killed my argument too well which is a shame because I thought it was pretty good.

It's going to keep getting worse until there's a generation that has enough kids to replace themselves. Birth rates at least hitting replacement would indicate that some of the core social sicknesses have reversed. Too late for Millennials, and it doesn't look like Zoomers are going to arrest the decline, either.
