Yeah. It seems some determining factors are length of marriage and so on. I don't believe she'd get it either but fuck it would be funny if she did plus receive alimony to have to pay for it.
Fuck, the begments would be astounding if she were awarded such things. "My ex wife is taking my house from me, and so I really really need your help. Tips would go a long way if you like my kahntent and want me to continue doing it...."

He acquired the snort fort prior to marriage. Unless he refinanced and added her as a coborrower, she really wouldn't have any claim to the property. Depending on how long they stay married, she could ding him for spousal support/alimony, but that's probably about it.
Depends on who is paying for it. If it's paid for out of community assets, that's what matters. If they've been keeping separate bank accounts and Phil has only been paying the mortgage out of his own money, it still might be separate. There's probably not much equity in it considering most payments to date will probably have been just on interest, with most of the principal still owing.

The mortgage deed shows that he paid $252,000 while the begruptcy showed he managed to reduce that to about $227,000 so you're right, he only paid off about $25,000 in 5 and a half years. That being said, Seattle was in a huge real estate boom before and during Covid which raised the property's value to $379,000. Even if he hasn't touched the principal at all he's got at least $154,000 in equity on the property. I understand he's done a good job protecting himself from any claim Kat might have but hopefully that kind of asset could still be used to show he can afford to pay alimony.

Not just that, we're talking about someone who is either exceptional or very close. The idea of going to court instead of leaving in the night, or going to court specifically to get as much money out of Phil as she can, might just not occur to her.

I'm far too lazy to look up home values, but just knowing that my own place (major-ish city, minor power level) has gone up over 120k in just a year.... I would estimate that Dave has some significant equity over the loan. Unless the summer of love devalued shit up in the Washington and Oregon area... He could PRAHBABLY refi and pay off all kinds of shit. And by that, I mean finance a bunch of oily-man.png pulls.

I'm sure that most, if not all, household bills and utilities come from his account, so that would be easy enough to prove. Unless.... Shit, he's not sly enough to do this, but had all of his cheerssubsandtips go to an account in her name, and stuff gets paid from there.... But, that's assuming that they each hare a pair of brain cells to rub together and try and game the system.

Even if he hasn't touched the principal at all he's got at least $154,000 in equity on the property.

For what it's worth, the first few years of your mortgage (in most instances), you wind up chipping away at the interest before you really start sniffing at the principal. So, it's not very surprising that he hasn't made much headway into the loan itself. His monthly is probably about 70% interest, 20% escrow, and 10% principal. It'll slowly start tipping to more principal in the next few years, but lenders like getting return on their investments pretty quick.

I doubt he's done a good job. When does he do a good job? Also, alimony wouldn't be a long term thing, but more like a year at most for every 3-4 years of marriage. This is customary practice, not an ironclad rule. Also Washington is an equitable division state, so even though the wakahndo (or the equity in it) may not be community property, the court might take it into consideration when dividing what actually is the community property.

"Equitable division" means the court makes a judgment as to what is fair rather than just splitting the community property in half. There are rules and cases about this, but it's ultimately a subjective value judgment. A guy who comes across as a colossal douche is going to get fucked.

Hahaha I love you guys. What a weird feeling to be having heavy speculations that she got fat and it turns out to be true like 90% of the things that get thought about here.

Honestly looks almost nothing like how she originally was. This can't be someone new right?

Dave and Kat's marriage license is public record, I assume if they got divorced someone could look that up.

I just think Kat got fat, it's not like Dave could have attracted a new soul maid after the bankruptcy and he probably couldn't afford to fly a prospective one out to take them to Ikea.

Hmm... Not sure Phil would be driving. Maybe Kat doesn't fit behind the wheel anymore?

And Jesus... If that is them... Kat looks nothing like before. That's deathfat face if I ever saw it.

I've had an old highschool friend who said she was not with her "husband" anymore but are like across the country and didn't bother with paperwork so divorced but not really set in?. Not sure to be honest here, probably trying to ruse me. It's still a mystery that needs more coverage.

Look at the wedding picture with Khet where she was already putting weight on. Now take away her Homer Simpson shotgun makeup, and extrapolate another couple years of shut-in consooming. That is definitely her.
