We had it wrong this whole time, Phil is the real victim. He was just an innocent, 30 year old autistic gay man until some 17 year old hussy fucked his whole life up and tried to force him to be a normal human.
I remember someone finding some posts she made an entrepreneur forum about wanting to live close to her parents and barring that FL for advantageous business reasons but it was Phil who demanded Seattle for weather/tech scene reasons.
I forget the part about living near her parents but picking FL for business reasons is backwards: there was some registration she would have needed in FL that was not necessary in WA.
That says more about how little savings he had than anything else: He had to go to multiple banks to find one willing to give him the mortgage he wanted for such a low down payment, even with his high income. Combine that with his spending habit and he would have burned all between the down payment + move even if he moved to Rhode Island.
I have no doubt Leanna pushed all of it. She said they weren't even a couple unless Phil bought his own place.

I think it was still about Phil exerting control over her at the end of the day. She would have had some extra red tape to get around in FL but it's not impossible to run a soap or candle making business there. I remember the forum post, you can find an old Tevin stream out there where he reads it, but one thing struck me was Leanna's description of how Phil acted when he read the law/restriction in FL. She mentioned that he shut up (which he never did!) and sat there quiet with his mouth agape. THIS, I believe, was an act. Phil over-exaggerated the problem in order to steer Leanna far away from her family, and to a state much less hot and favorable for himself.
