Okay guys, im still mad so rant time.
Whats their problem? Are they both retarded/mentally challenged? DSP is begging for a lot of money to pay the essential bills but they still go and buy 2 copies of a brand new AAA game just so she can also play it day1. They could have share it and play when the other doesnt. They struggle to pay bills and then they throw out money which they appearantly cant afford. This is not a marriage, they are like housemates.
How the fuck none of the paypigs questioned this? How is this normal to them? It may seem like a small thing but this kinda irresponsibility pisses me off. End of rant.
In regard to those paypigs, you can't exactly apply logic to these people who think like this because to put it bluntly, they are not normal people. Believe it or not, if the few of them found their time watching Phil was worthwhile and enjoyable, whether they have been long time viewers, or are attention seekers and have cash to fling because they know they'll feel special if they donate to someone making a desperate plea (fucking ironic but anyway) they'll tip him as much as they please for that positive good feedback. That's all on them though. the moment they turn around and find that their time and money wasn't worthwhile to them and question what Phil's doing with their contributions, why he needs to constantly beg for money so much (despite gaining more money than a high income earning professional would) and why is he still in financial trouble? Well congrats to them, they just got scammed by the roach, without realising it for an extended period of time, because they fall for his constant barrage that evil sick people (trolls) want to destroy him and believe his reasoning that detractors are just a bunch of mentally dumb people on the internet who don't know anything and he's able to guilt the hundreds or how many people he has for sympathy by using his elaborate victimhood complex (but as history shows most things detractors have said and noticed about Phil are 98% accurate, because why else would someone who gives money to someone, suddenly get up, feel completely wronged, and leave).
I hope I didn't get too off topic with the pay piggies but that's my analysed take on them and hope that gives you a bit of closure.
In regards to Kat and Phil deciding they need to spend cash on an overpriced new release that's over a decade old now for new consoles, can be traced back to all the instances of him always buying new releases and never ever once has this guy ever talked about buying things on sale, taking advantage of second hand game prices (no trading games does not count Phil, places like Gamestop absolutely rip you off and give you peanuts in return, he used to do this in the old YouTube days and even when he was still with Machinima, but I don't believe he's doing that much anymore, he mostly tends to just buy things digitally ever since streaming, I doubt he buys many hard copies and sells them) borrowing games from people, solely just sticking to games that don't cost too much to play, I don't think many of his "fans" give a fuck what he plays most of the time, when he was playing the newest Danganronpa that came out and he was getting less overall tips for that game then he was for older games like Street Fighter, it just goes to show that he doesn't always have to play the newest stuff in order to get the most engagement, that's just one example I'm sure you can find many more if you want to dig deeper. Phil does not have a fucking shrewd brain cell in his head at all, he always buys these games that over the years have constantly gone up in prices (inflation, publishers and retailers wanting more of a profit, increased production cost, because digital is way cheaper and easier for Sony/Microsoft etc.) So when it comes down to making smart conscious decisions about running his "business", he does a fucking terrible job at even doing the bare minimum to reap the fruits of his labour, considering the numbers he was earning pre partnership.
So with Phil the answer is pretty obvious, he does not have any sense about proper budgeting and looking for the best deals, he seems to think that buying things on the cheaper end or even doing things on a budget god forbid, are beneath him, because he's never had to make ends meet when he was earning almost nothing, so why should he all of a sudden start now right? boy this fuckwit is gonna have a hell of a retirement if momma and papa roach don't have a sizable amount of assets for inheritance.
The case with Kat is a bit more harder to figure out, and rather peculiar. She did not have a very good upbringing and didn't seem to live very lavishly from what we know right? therefore she seems to value her own time and money as being very important and is a secure aspect of her personal interest, she sees money as a safeguard and while she may have decided to bite more off than she can chew with staying with a man like Phil (wasting money away, the bankruptcy, huge amount of back taxes etc.) she seems comfortable enough that she can stay with him for as long as she needs without her own main safeguard being under any sort of threat. She was also just a generic console gamer that made some videos from time to time yeah? It's probably just this middle aged gamer mentality where they see the main stream hype for a game and want to spend her own money (which she earns enough of her own I think that she'd be able to buy new releases consistently if she pleases) just because it's the "hot new release" so to speak, when she's surrounded by Phil in the snort fort, I'd imagine the only sort of discussions they'd have between themselves non-begrudgingly would be just about food and games, if Phil is only invested in buying all the newest and hottest releases, then I guess it wouldn't be unusual for your spouse who also has an interest in gaming to do the same (but I think you pointed out yeah that Phil mentioned he bought a copy for both him and her? so that means they game on separate PS5 consoles, which we have known about before, as a married couple who apparently have some financial troubles, here you have and example of spending money on expensive shit where they probably didn't need to if they were seriously heading toward financial ruin).
With this in mind, the moment Phil can not make money in the same way he is doing now and the gravy train of streaming finally comes to a screeching halt, Phil knows that he has no other options to make anywhere near as much dough as he was able to before, and he'll panic, this is a major threat to Kat and her semi-seditionary isolated lifestyle, she won't stay with Phil for long once that happens because their is practically no romance or connection whatsoever and she'll jump ship, her main safeguard is at threat.
These are just people who have these warped perceptions of what they can and can't afford and think any sort of debt is like a temporary setback for them (i.e. the bankruptcy). And while we know Phil is a complete numbskull about finances, we know less so about Kat. It just seems to me that she's able to maintain the lifestyle that she wants living with him and since Phil covers for so many of the ongoing expenses, her buying expensive games and other things from time to time wouldn't really put her in any financial danger so long as the situation allows it.
But this is all temporary, the moment Phil can't sustain his income like he has, that Kat is gone, don't know what's gonna happen with their son as well, I don't think Phil will remember to feed him, he might be the first to hop over to the more friendly, probably more reliable owners that cat should have had.
Hope I didn't bore anyone reading this haha I just needed to get this reply off my chest.
