Penny if by chance you are reading this, sorry, I can't imagine what going through that shit is like. When it happened to my grandfather who I was close to, I wasn't around for it and he was gone before I even knew what was happening. No one deserves to go through that let alone be helpless in witnessing it. I may not see eye to eye with you on a lot but lord knows I don't hate you. Kev however is the type of person to hold you back and limit you from achieving your potential happiness. Everybody isn't supposed to be in our lives forever. If you don't get rid of the wrong friends, you'll never find the right ones. Stay strong for your mom, and hopefully she won't have to suffer through it.

I feel bad for Penny as well, mainly because I had to deal with my grandmother getting Alzheimer's and it was three agonizing years before she passed away. As someone said before, I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy, and Kevin's response would have been the catalyst of me kicking him out if I was in Penny's shoes.

My sympathy to both Penny’s mother and Penny. It is truly heartbreaking to see a parent suffer with dementia, knowing there is little or nothing you can do lessen their fear and frustration.

I hope for Penny’s mum’s sake that someone trustworthy has power of attorney to deal with her affairs and make sure she’s going to get the care she needs.

Dementia care can be intensive and very costly and what I fear is that the funds needed for it might get siphoned elsewhere; say to prop up a ranch that’s struggling to break even. Penny seems to have genuine love for his mum, so I would hope he wouldn’t do that, but I don’t trust that ghoul Bonnie.

Everything I'd say about the situation has already been said. Alzheimer's is a horrible thing to happen to anyone and for family to go through. Penny is very lucky to still have a positive relationship with his mother and hopefully has a decent support network for it, which definitely doesn't include Kevin. Kevin's response is just apt for him, completely tone deaf and incorporates his fetish above anything else in their relationship. He has absolutely no self or social awareness and communication skills.

Of course, he's got all that Nintendo and media garbage to consoom so he doesn't have to think about comforting his partner or pick up the slack and give Penny some time to deal with things. He's such a selfish oaf.

There are a few other similarities too - a hatred of cities (Bonnie's obsession with "kweer rural spaces"), a hatred of the elite (reeee eat the rich!), glorification and justification of violence (punch terfs! we love open carry to freak out the normies!), and a hatred of "the other" (all other residents of Westcliffe that they act contemptuously towards). Freikorps groups formed after traumatized men couldn't get jobs or re-integrate after WW1. Troonkorps are also unemployable men who re-enforce each other's bizarre views. The delusion that you're a pretty princess and the delusion that Germany should take over the world seem to be nutured in similar ways. The Freikorps men were the first to join Hitler's brown shirts.

Not to be a party pooper but that wasn’t strictly a “Nazi” thing. It maybe been compiled and presented as such but for whatever reason (boredom? Giggles?) it was really popular for male GIs to trade clothing with their female (and often foreign) paramours. Women would wear the jacket and helmets and a lot of the men (from all countries and branches) would wear the dresses. It was more of a silly flirty thing than crossdressing.
